I got the e5 to replace a 675 that no longer worked. I got the e5 renewed. It did not come with a manual. I had problems adding the e5 to the mobile app and had issues with the dustbin coming a loose initially. Frustrated with Roomba support I was going to return it. I changed my mind. The dustbin issue is resolved itself. The e5 does a superior job picking up my beagle’s hair. The dustbin compartment has dual filters. Also the e5 rarely gets stuck. I’m glad I kept the e5 and gave a renewed product a try.

We’ve had the Roomba E5 for a month, and overall this vacuum is amazing! Runs up to 2 hours on a charge. Suction is good enough for any standard cleaning needs, and even for a few larger spills or cleanups. Covers 1500 square feet of floor effectively. It is a cumulative effect, so don’t be discouraged if the first run doesn’t get your floor spotless. We run ours (scheduled on the very user friendly app) three times a week. We have hardwood floors with a few area rugs, two dogs and a teenager, and after a few runs our floors were PERFECT, and have stayed that way!
Remember this is not a full size upright vacuum cleaner, so don’t expect it to act like one. Run it on a regular schedule, empty the container, and make your floors easily accessible to the robot. It’s dumb, so if something is in its way it will just bounce off and go somewhere else!
*IMPORTANT* The unit DOES NOT have mapping capabilities. The only way it will find it’s way back to its charging base is by line-of-site. In other words, it has to randomly get close enough for it’s IR sensor to “see” the charging base. If it doesn’t find it in time, it will die wherever it’s battery runs out. If that happens to be under the couch…. So, PUT THE BASE IN A ROOM THAT THE ROBOT OFTEN ENDS UP IN! For us it’s the kitchen. Lot’s of ways in and out of there, and Roomba ends up there quite a bit. When the battery gets low it will automatically go into homing mode and dock as soon as it’s in range. It’s really satisfying when you hear that happy little chime it makes when it docks and you get that notification on your phone that says “Roomba Has Completed a Job!”

I’ve had a roomba for years and recently purchased this one for the other house. It came without a manual and no instructions for programing. Also my old roomba would stop and avoid going over a step. This one for some reason does not sense there is a step going into the utility room and a small step going into the office. It gets hung up on these places every time, so I have to block them off. Also the filter seems to get plugged up extremely fast. Other than those complaints it simply goes around and sweeps and does a good job on edges and hardwood and smooth surface floors.

With 2 dogs, 3 cats & 4 teenagers- I run this baby 3 times a day! It makes keeping the floors clean so much easier than vacuuming by hand every day- I will say if you have pets that aren’t fully house trained- MAKE SURE you do a poop check before you turn it on- I promise there is nothing grosser than cleaning skid marks off your entire 1st floor- and then having to clean the Roomba!

Wish I could have purchased it sooner. Best product I ever invested my money on. We have huge carpet and I do not remember I used vacuum once, since I purchased this product.
Regular clean up is all it needs.
One feedback- wish there was way to beep the romba roboot once battery is finished, so you could find where it in the house.

We are loving our Hairyette!(THATs her name) lol the first runs were gross. I have a clean house but didn’t realize how much dirt and hair my broom didn’t catch! Not to mention my carpeted areas. Eek! We have it on an every other day schedule for both areas. The battery only seems to work for 1 cleaning before it is used up and has to be charged. There are books and crannies we have to still sweep or vacuum out but overall we are delighted with our purchase!

This thing eats dirt fast and much better suction than my 675 which I use for downstairs. All Roomba’s get the job done and have the best programming but the E5 is way easier to clean.. My 675 I have to pull the hair out all the time cause of my girls. The E5 has no such problem.. Thinking of replacing my 675 but its still a hard charger and is still rolling after two battery replacements.. I mean its been 10 years so im kinda sympathetic LOL but the fact is the E5 kicks its but..

Worked well at first, having a problem with the wheels now all it does is goes round and round in circles I’ve cleaned the wheels and the sensors and nothing will work I’m so disappointed

If you don’t have Alexa, download Google home app and set up with Google assistant to use the voice commands. You should rename your Roomba first.
This thing is a genius invention, I can vacuum the floor while just lounging around the house. Roomba works really great collecting the pet hair, better than the vacuum cleaner. I got the refurbished one and it is just fine, better than new and cheaper than new also.

If you’ve ever had an off-brand robot vacuum that sucked (not literally) and stopped randomly to yell unintelligible phrases at you, you will love this. Bianca here cleans the floors thoroughly, her words are clear, and she also sends you a message on your phone to tell you what the issue is. So far, her problems have always been easy to fix (something wrapped around the wheel, trapped on a cliff, etc).
Between the kids and a dog that sheds enough for 5 dogs, Bianca has her work cut out for her in my home. She consistently does a fantastic job. My only regret is not spending more to get the one that dumps it’s own canister when it’s done because, well, my floors are gross. I appreciate Bianca’s help, and my 4 year old loves her so much that he brought his pillow and blanket to lay on the floor next to her while she napped (even though she might not be a real robot since she’s not made of all metal). He would like one of his own for his 5th birthday.

Product arrived packaged great! The little roomba is smart and covers my entire lower level with only getting stuck 1-2 times and that’s not often. The pick up is good but the only sucky part is the bin fills up way to fast. Needs to be emptied regularly and I feel like the dirt events are calculating lower than they should. For a refurbished purchase I’m very happy with the price I paid

GREAT LITTLE HELPER! This little guy, whom I named Reginald, is fantastic. Super easy set up with Alexa.. runs forever, great suction! Love it!

I previously had a Deebot. I loved it and used it for years. I recently lost my Deebot to a poocastrophy. I relied heavily on my robotic vacuum to help with the dog hair. With Deedee (my Deebot) she would get stuck on everything, so I had to babysit her.
This Roomba hardly ever gets stuck. In the couple of months I have had this robot, it has only gotten stuck once. It does a great job picking up dog hair and crumbs. I haven’t noticed anything it does not pick up except large pieces of debris. She is easier to clean than a Deeboot and senses when something (like me) is in front of it – it will slow down/bump gently into you. I would buy this brand again.

20+ years ago a friend of mine work at Roomba. I had a chance to try out the original version. It was clunky and the batteries didn’t last. I gave up on it. With hesitation I bought the E5 and I’m amazed. Lots of pets and it does a great job. There is a learning curve for me. Cords must be pulled up out of the way, certain cat toys put away, but I love it.

The suction is awful. The charging unit stopped holding charge on day 2. Now it won’t work at all. It never completed set up on the phone app. Said unit can’t be found. Trash holder is very small. On day one I thought this could be my life saver, so so disappointed. No returns or refunds without the box. Praying I can locate that box and pretend this never happened.

This is my first roomba. I’m not impressed. Not as easy to empty as my other robots. Noisy. Very, very small filter. Also, did not receive manual, sorry, but on-line just not as convenient for me. Do like the rubber rollers versus the brushes. Probably wouldn’t buy again.

It does a nice job of cleaning, especially if you do it regularly – 2 or more times per week. One does need to keep the floor clear of obstacles, and it’s randomness can take some getting used to, but it works well and it’s not too noisy.

Cleaning is excellent vacuum runs at the scheduled times. sometimes it runs out of charge before it gets to every room but it usually will hit the rooms it missed on the next cleaning. Doesn’t always make it back to the charging station before the battery runs out. But the amount of dirt and pet hair it picks up is amazing all in all well worth the money.

It will clean every day, something I certainly would not do myself. Running everyday it keeps the floors very clean. (We have two dogs.) Only minor issues are it leaves some small clumps of hair on the carpets and it can’t find its charging station half the time, but the house is much, much cleaner. I love this bot!
