I have multiple dogs and cats with a new litter of 13 puppies. I have used this multiple times, every day for the past week as the mother dog tends to leak through her diaper (which they do for up to eight weeks after birth) So with out going into to much detail I will often find bloody spots on the carpet, dog beds and blankets ..may be a day late. this machine has not failed me yet in getting out bloody stains and other pet stains such as urine. ( I use their specialized pet shampoo as well)

First off I should say I have 3 carpet cleaning machines depending on what I want to do:(for smaller jobs, like smaller than your hand)
Herein lies the rub, obviously the larger machine will do a better job, it also costs exponentially more), the middle machine (which I am reviewing) does not do as good a job but for messes that don’t quite require that big machine (which weights about 60lbs) it does an acceptable job but less vacuum power means longer drying time. The last one is kind of a mixed bag, for small stains small than your hand, just fill it up, sit it down and press the button and it does wonderfully BUT for anything that would require you to actuallu use the attached hose it is woefully inadequate so even though it might look like it could replace the middle machine, it really cannot.
So let me talk about that middle machine here, it is less than 15lbs fully loaded with water/solution, the hose is of an adequate length that it is not a problem and for once Bissell fixed it where the hose stores and stays in place. The vacuum power is where you know you have a smaller machine, it pulls less water out resulting in longer drying time, the brush works on the power of your arm (no rotating brush of any kind). I used it on a set of 10 stairs with 2 small landings and I was exhausted by the time I was finished.
Here is where this machine does shine, that big machine takes about 30+ minutes to clean up after the job, the small one can take just as long depending on what you had to clean up. This machine took about 5 minutes on the deck with the water hose, let dry , pack away for next use. This machine also has something I did not test but I can see it being something you might want to have on that REALLY smelly messes that you don’t really want to suck down into the bowels of your machine, a separate head that will allow you to clean it up in small amounts and empty the small container on the head as you go, only something you hope you never have to use but with pets, stuff happens.
In comparison to that $500 machine it is 3 Star but for apartment dwellers and people with limited budgets, this can be a lifesaver so 4 Stars it is for overall usefulness.

I have to say this machine is awesome ! I love that it is small and sole purpose is for upholstery. I have owned several carpet cleaners. It was always annoying to use the adapter to clean the sofas. Other machines didn’t have a good spray of cleaner or the suction wasn’t good.
This machine is perfect and I would highly recommend it !!!

I’ve had both, this Bissell spot cleaner and the Hoover spot cleaner. In my opinion, the Hoover left the carpet drier after cleaning up pet messes. This Bissell cleaner does the job of cleaning surface messes quite well. But fails to get up pet urine which soaked into the carpet. I can still smell it after working on the spot for some time. The suction/brush head is smaller width and it doesn’t seem to have the suction power of the other maker. I do like the solution container, it’s easy to fill. The discharge for the suction air comes out the side and bottom. If it’s sitting on the carpet, it restricts some of the airflow and the discharge heats up that spot. I had to put small supports under it to get a little more suction out of it. but it still leaves the carpet fairly wet. Overall, this one is OK for surface stuff but not deep down stuff.

So far this machine seems to be working fine. I love it’s size. It has good suction, is very portable, Length of power cord a plus, and seems to do exactly what it claims to do.
The only issue that I have is that my water/cleaning solution tank looks like it has been repaired. I paid for a new machine, not a refurbished one and is why at this time I can only give it 3 stars.
I do wonder how well this tank will hold up. It is pretty thin plastic and I can see where it could easily develop cracks and likely did. So far it seems to be working as advertised. Just not happy with getting a machine that seems to of been repaired while paying for the brand new price.

I use this all the time (two puppies) and I love it. However, I would not buy the pet version again (costs more) because the special attachment for pet messes is not needed. My daughter has the other model and the standard vacuum head on hers is larger than the one on the pet model.

Cleaned a huge 7 piece sofa with just the soap provided. Amazing results. Sofa was stained with urine, vomit, and anything else a 2 year old could put on it!!! Brand new and smells great. Machine is super easy to use and clean!!

This works much better than other hand held carpet cleaners I have tried (several of them). The suction is much stronger, so the water you spray actually comes out of the carpet instead of just soaking even further in. I only use the smaller attachment, because the suction is weaker with the other attachment. If there was something spilled on the floor that I really want cleaned up well, I suction before blotting. The attachment with the cup that attaches can be used for that purpose if there is urine on the carpet. You don’t want straight up urine going completely through the hose.

Our elderly kitty was diagnosed with a heath condition that initially especially was causing him to toss his cookies– a lot. I did what I could and pretreated the areas that had been hit, then went online and started researching spot cleaners.
I was torn between this and the Bissell SpotCleaner Pro (model 3624). Other than color, they seem to be identical expect for the attachments– same amps, tank capacity, etc. I decided to go with this model because it has the stain trapper tool (and I don’t need the 3624’s stairs attachment), and because the other was out of stock and we needed something asap. I thought the stain trapper might be a gimmick but decided to give it a try with the hope that it would offset the additional expense.
I’m really happy with the machine. I pretreat the spots to be cleaned and start with the stain trapper, which keeps the worst of what I can’t pick up with a paper towel from getting into the hose etc. Then I switch to the regular attachment, which has a smaller opening and better suction. I usually make multiple passes and go slow as it says in the instructions. So far everything has come out completely, including chocolate stain on synthetic weave couch, cat vomit on wool and synthetic rugs, and food on microfiber that’s water safe.
The tanks are easy to fill and empty once you get used to putting the dirty tank handle over the top of the tank– the first time I was afraid of breaking it, but now I like the design. The hose and cord are easy to unroll and the whole thing is compact and relatively lightweight.
The suction is very good, and using hot tap water keeps the spray from the attachment warm, which helps. I gave it four stars for ease of use because I have to use a decent amount of pressure to get the water sucked up completely from the wool rug. But for a machine this size that seems reasonable.
It’s gotten heavy use since I got it and still smells clean– I run a couple bowls of hot water through after each use and leave everything open to dry. I don’t store the solution in the tank– I use less to start with and empty after use.

This is a small handheld version of a carpet cleaner. It works really well for small areas that must be cleaned. We considered the spot bot but now that I have used this I think this is far more effective than an 8in round brush that cleans a very small spot and must be moved. I also worry the spot-bot would leave behind a nice clean round area on the rug. With this unit, you can feather in the cleaning over a wider area. The unit really did a nice job of cleaning the areas of the rug that was either stained or just dirty from foot traffic.

Used it to clean my couch because my dog has peed on the couch and it started to smell. *gross* Don’t want anyone coming over and sitting down on a couch that smells like pee. YA’LL!!!!! When I say this did it’s THANG!!! It did the damn THANNNNGGGGGG!!!! *preaching hand emoji* *take my money gif* So glad I bought it! Also good for kids that wet the beds!!! lol

Works really well. I wish it had a smaller head for cleaning water in tight areas. The hose is a little short but I was using it to clean a car interior.

This is a really nice little shampooer. I have a dog with medical problems resulting in recurrent issues with soiled carpet. Since we are remodeling I am not too concerned with the carpet being hurt but flooring is down on the list of tasks for 12 to 24 months. I purchased this to keep my sanity without having professional crews in every 3 weeks. I was impressed with the cleaning ability of it, the suction, and the cleaning solution that comes in the package. Having owned kirby, rug doctor, Hoover, electrolux, and other brands. None of them cleaned better than this small unit. That having been said, I also used the solution at half or less than the recommended ratio to help avoid the dreaded hard carpet and super soiled spots from soap being left in the carpet. The u it is VERY easy to clean after use. If the dirty water compartment was less tight there would be leaking problems. The plastic is sturdy enough for intended use unless you intentionally want to use them for a basket ball or target practice. I have avoided Bissel products until now due to continual bad reviews but I am pleased so far about this unit. Nice for the price.

You know, I looked so long & did so much research,
I feel it would just be wrong not to review my new friend Bissell.
For details on Bissell Pro specifically~ scroll to end.
For research on options, keep reading.
I have to say I did not intend to get a carpet or upholstery cleaner.
I tried 3 different spots to rent one over a weekend & they were all gone or broken.
In sharing my frustration with my mom, she surprised me with the Hoover upright pet cleaner.
The thing works pretty good. For a 100 bucks & the small space it uses, worth it.
However, what I really needed was upholstery & it does not have attachment options.
So here’s the rabbit hole I went down for weeks, actually months.
Do I exchange for cleaner with attachments?
Or get a spot cleaner?
Well, every spot cleaner review states, they leak with some horror story of muddy water on a clean carpet.
Every cleaner with attachments, other than the industrial size one you need a garage for,
which we do not have the room as I live with Fred Sanford, states it doesn’t clean as well as a pro.
So, the only viable option is both or just a good spot cleaner, if you have smaller areas.
Obviously, I went with the Bissell Pro Pet.
I could say I Finally decided to try bc it went on sale but truth is,
I was going to need professional help, if I read one more ounce of information so, it had to be done.
After cleaning all my upholstery, which I am honestly grossed out by how much yuck came out,
I can tell you this Bissel Pet Pro is the real deal.
The only down side is, it cleaned my couch so well, I now have light patches.
So either color was scrubbed off, or dirt was covering the faded spots (Spoiler, it’s the 2nd one)
DETAILS~
~Steam? Nope.
You can add hot water but just doesn’t feel hot as when you spray it out, kinda lukewarm.
Plus, most pro soaps will do the job at home so, don’t overthink it.
~Sprayer? Yes. You manually control it.
It is a spray not a stream so, if you keep moving the hose, the water will not drench.
~Suction. Oh my word, Yes. It’s truly horrifying to see the dirt run through the clear nozzle.
Quick tip~ Suction over as many times as necessary until you don’t see water & will dry quickly.
~Water containers~ Both removable with handles.
~ Dirty water container will hold 2 fills of the clean container.
If you run out mid job, add some more clean water & keep going.
Can be disassembled to clean inside. Just give the handle a good push to the other side & it will release.
~Clean water container, does drip when removing & refilling.
Just some drips so if you know, you’re prepared but may be issue in future.
Last note, the spot cleaner.
I did not have an accident to test it on but, this hockey puck sized nozzle was too fascinating not to try.
Pretty sure this thing could’ve sucked up the cat if she walked by.
All in all this is worth every penny. On sale or retail at about $179 right now.
As good as a Store rental machine with the space of a large backpack.
Also, the cord is long enough to run to do auto detail.
Dirty, nasty, work truck auto detail.
I would buy the Bissell dinner if I could for the things it’s had to see.

As a lifetime pet owner and present owner of two cats, one asked to occasionally deal with pretty gross cleanup situations. One of these situations arose when upon my going on vacation for a month my cat decided to punish me by repeatedly urinating in my dining room. Disgusting. Fortunately I made the decision to order those little device, and to my great surprise and delight, it Actually works. One go over and The trace of endless mishaps was all bar erased. There’s one spot I wanna go over one more time but that was the worst of like four spots and when you walk into the room you can’t smell anything anymore; it’s only if you get down on the carpet and smell that specific spot… And like I said I’ve only been over at once. However, day one and I am seriously impressed. Like I said every other solution I’ve ever tried — and I’ve tried everything – – is absolute Kenard; this is the real deal. Very happy to have purchased it. I can now enjoy my home in peace.

Buy it. If you’re contemplating this, it’s because you smelled the funk. The stains have multiplied. It’s just an area rug, you don’t want to hire a carpet cleaning company. Will this do it?
Absolutely. It will suck up the month old juice. The farts from the 6 year old. The recited beans from nacho night a couple months ago.
I didn’t even realize my white carpet was tinted dirt. And I’m a clean person. I did this today and my dirty water was BLACK.
Im disgusted with myself. I lived like an animal. Not anymore. This thing is amazing.
Im looking forward to attacking my car seats and mattress. I will say I would never do a whole carpeted room with this. It’s definitely meant for spot cleaning or an afternoon tackling the area rugs. But it’s amazing!
**the attachment with its own dirty water container sucks. Actually, it doesn’t suck. I attached that first and was disappointed. But when I used the second attachment, it was game over.
Highly recommend!

We replaced the spotbot pet handsfree with this machine and parts of the review do compare the two. The handsfree was very convenient, however since all of the soiled water was going through the machine it smelled disgusting and was terrible to empty the rancid tank, it didn’t smell clean or fresh after using it for a while because all parts of the machine were contaminated.
Cue the purchase of this machine. 20 stars for being able to use the little cup and keeping all the nasty out of the machine. The little cup also means that it gets cleaned out every time rather than having a large tank full of waste water.
Pros:
– stain trapper tool means keeping soiled water out of the guts of the machine and maintaining fresh machine, which means it can be used for other purposes than just messes like general auto/home cleaning
– large clean water tank means infrequently needed to refill
– long hose
– long power cord
– upright storage for the hose means it doesn’t spill/leak in storage (a problem with the handsfree in which the hose attaches to the side)
Cons:
– a bit heavier/larger than the handsfree model
– water will splash out of the hose when you detach the stain trapper tool if gravity isn’t accounted for
– you have to do all the work yourself compared to handsfree model (not a con for us, but in comparison could be for some)

In defense of the machine, I am a Rainbow Vac user which uses water and is quite powerful at a premium price. Second, I am a Rigid Shop Vac user in my business, so I expect powerful suction when dealing with water. Therefore, The Bissell Pet Pro, faced tough competition at my house. I bought it for convenience and size without checking for a power rating…which I did not find in the description.
I like the size. It is Easy to store, quick to the “mess”. The hand held Stain Trapper is nice keeping the mess out of the big tank, but a few days after using the machine, I discovered some dirty water still goes into the main tank and because I did not clean it immediately, it really smelled when I discovered it.
The sprayer was nice to help dilute the urine accident, but at times, it sprayed too wide on to the unspoiled area. If caught early, on my carpet, you can keep the accident area small.
However, The big problem and the reason it is being returned is the lack of suction. My Shaw Pet Proof carpet does not allow water or dirt to go though the backing to the carpet pad or floor. Therefore, any moisture stays on the surface to be picked up by a vacuum or carpet cleaner. This shows just how much water is left in the carpet rather than having it hide in the pad. Even the water from an ice cube will remain where it is until it is cleaned up or evaporates.
After using the Bissell, the carpet remained very wet and I had to dry the carpet further with a towel. If this is the case, I may as well use my old method of applying water with a spray bottle, use my Rainbow to pick up as much water as I can and dry the cleaned area with a towel….all without the extra expense, just extra manipulation of equipment.
UPDATE 12/14/220 I decided to give the machine a second chance (moving from three stars to four) and found by using the regular brush rather than the Stain Trapper, the suction was much better. Because of the good points above: size and convenience I will keep experimenting. I may have to get a short grounded extension cord, however, as I live in an older house and not all of my outlets have been changed to grounded plug-ins.

Blown away by how well this shampooed/steamer worked. We moved bed box springs from a storage unit and when we found them they had a few mice droppings so I figured I’d invest in the shampooer and save the box spring. I was totally shocked to see how well this worked to not only clean out stains I didn’t even know existed, but how easy it was to do so. It was incredibly easy to set up and use (especially for someone who’s never used anything like it before). The pet urine eliminator and oxy cleaner they sent for cleaning made the box springs smell nice and clean afterwards, but not overwhelming. I’m glad I’ll have this on hand in the future for my car, furniture, and rugs. The machine is very portable, but a bit noisy in a room with nothing in it so I’d recommend ear protection. Overall I would absolutely recommend this Bissell product.
Edward –
I like it and it gets the job done . To get better results you would need to spray your chemicals and scrub the seat/carpet and then with hot water in the extractor start extracting and you may have to do more then one pass depending how dirty it is. I used the products in my pictures and then scrub it with a drill brush and extracted for heavy stains I used my steamer and then extract it.

Months ago accidentally bought the Bissell machine that had a small rotating brush built in and supposedly you set brush over stain, turn on machine and walk away while cleaner does its thing. No, worthless and only cleaned about a 6 inch area at a time. I threw this machine directly into the municipal trash truck myself. Then I got back to Amazon and paid attention and bought this Bissell sot cleaning unit. Long story short, the Bissell reviewed here has all the features you want. Large solution tank. Better suction. I really enjoy this pet model. Even if you don’t have pet accidents. It’s a spill cleaner. Oh, the new cleaning tool, not the smaller one, I will probably never use. It’s for cleaning really disgusting stains, spills and all that needs cleaned up. It keeps he mess before the mess gets in your machine. Just not something I’ll use. Just suck up some water from a bucket when your done and that will clean your entire machine. By the way the Bissell unit with its built in self cleaning brush was a good idea. But I prefer just a hand suction tool.
