Bissell SpotClean ProHeat Portable Spot and Stain Carpet Cleaner, 2694, Blue
Why Use a Portable Carpet Cleaner?
Why should I use a portable carpet cleaner?
It’s the convenience! Take many of the features of a full-size carpet cleaner to hard-to-reach places around your home. These machines can remove smaller deep-down spots and stains quickly and on the go, meaning you don’t have to break out your full-size carpet cleaner every time.
Why are carpet cleaners better than a spray or foam?
Carpet cleaners use a combination of warm water, special cleaning formulas and powerful suction to get deep down, below the surface of a spot or stain, where sprays and foams can’t reach. Carpet cleaners are also more effective in removing stains for good, whereas with sprays and foams, there’s a possibility the stain may re-appear.
Are full-size, upright or portable carpet cleaners better?
Both have their benefits – it just depends what part of your home you need to clean. Portable carpet cleaners are excellent for stairs, area rugs,
upholstery, auto interiors, and other smaller spaces, while full-size, upright carpet cleaners are best for large areas like whole rooms.

I can see in the reviews that a LOT of people didn’t read the description before buying this. No, it does heat your water. You fill the tank with hot water and it keeps it hot. It may feel cool to you if you spray it on your hand but that’s because the air is cooling it and you are supposed to hold it right on the carpet when spraying, not above it- the instructions tell you that. It will get most spots out but you may have to go over it a few times, actually getting the spot wet enough to loosen the dirt or rehydrate whatever has dried and then sucking the water back out. I recommend doing it at least twice- the second time with just hot water as cleaners can leave a residue that even when dried are sticky and dirt sticks back to, making a spot all over again.
Use as directed, don’t be afraid to make a wet spot, press firmly when extracting and repeat if necessary and yes, this product will do what it promises. Keep in mind that some substances actually stain your carpet though and nothing will take the stain completely out if that’s the case.

I am in complete awe and so excited about this review! I spilled a HUGE glass of BLUEBERRY smoothie … I was devastated! I tried all the “tricks” I could find on the internet but to no avail. I called 3 different carpet cleaners – all wanted anywhere from $140-$160 to come to my home to remove this “spot”. I decided to invest LESS in this machine and if it worked then I’d have it for other stains. Admittedly, I had very little hope. The stain had sat for 24+ hours but I used this miracle machine and viola’ …. it is completely gone! We were so excited by this we ran around the house cleaning up spots that were years old! Best investment EVER!

This portable cleaner is easy to use, and the suction power seems average, but it does not heat the water. It is supposed to retain the temperature of the water you put in it, but it doesn’t. Hot water goes in, cold water comes out. It also leaks water when you remove the clean and dirty water reservoirs. Listen to the reviews that say don’t waste your money. I didn’t, and now I’m two days past the date I can return it for a refund. Don’t be like me! Just don’t buy it.

Expected it would be easy to use. Not too hard to understand the directions but can’t get the suction to work. Machine is geared to work on plush carpets and we have berber. Tried it two different times and still have stains and/or marks.
Now stuck with machine as I have used it twice.

I had an older model similar to this previously and liked it. This one is WAY better though; the tanks snap into place, the “dirty” tank has the screw in float valve that you can remove to give you a giant hole to rinse and clean both the tank and the valve with. But my FAVORITE features are the hydro-rinse tool that allows you to use the cleaner to actually rinse the hose after cleaning up a mess (which is a huge plus so your hose doesn’t start to stink) and that the clear tops of both brush heads are detachable to make cleaning/removing sucked up debris a BREEZE! Works great for simple messes {nasty and semi-clean, so food/drink spills and pet/(or toddler potty training) messes} that haven’t been left for days or weeks. I haven’t tested this for stains that have been left for a long time because I never leave anything long enough TO stain. Overall, 5 stars!

This unit consists of a spray nozzle and a vacuum. Any of the ‘cleaning’ is done by the chemicals and any elbow grease you apply. The plastic doesn’t seem that durable so you should not be too rough in handling it. That said its compact, has nice aesthetic design, and also offers a self-cleaning attachment nozzle to clear out the hose of any debris.
If you need something basic to clean some small stains then this should work out. If you’re looking to do a thorough cleaning of a rug or furniture you should probably spend some more money and get a more powerful unit.

I took it out of the box, followed the instructions and immediately started to clean my couch with it. If you have a sectional, it will take all of the solution in the little bottle it comes with to do the sectional – so definitely buy the suggested extra bottle. It took me about two hours to do the entire sectional and I ran out. I think the reason they don’t want you to use Bissel carpet cleaning solution is that it is much more foamy and this pump is smaller than the one on the carpet cleaning vacuum. It cleaned my couch up beautifully… but nobody’s going to be able to sit on it for at least a day so I hope the kids keep it clean. When my extra bottle arrives, I’ll see what it can do for some of the mattresses in the house that the kids had accidents on a couple of years back.
*** Double check the dirty water bin and make sure that the bottom is screwed on tightly. Mine wasn’t, and it was quite a mess. Also, it really takes a very limited amount of dirty water before needing to be emptied, so keep an eye on the markings as you go.

Works really well for deep Cleaning but may have to go over stubborn stains TWO different times

This carpet cleaner made my 5 year old, off-white carpeted stairs, look brand new. I clearly was having a mental lapse over buying my first home when I chose off-white textured carpet even though I have 3 kids, 2 dogs, and 2 cats. The stairs are always the dirtiest place in the house. I have tried many shampooers for my stairs and they would always end up either not doing the job or being way too wet to dry in an appropriate time giving off a moldy smell. I had professionals come several times and was always disappointed.
This machine removed ALL stains and was mostly dry when I was finished. Great cleaning power and suction. I’m not gonna lie, this is an arm workout but I have Mom muscle so I made it through. If you can’t lift a 50 pound toddler mid-meltdown, you may want to rethink this.
I definitely recommend this to anyone who struggles with trying to maintain what’s left of their decor after having too many kids. May the odd ever be in your favor.

I bought this little gem to use on my furniture. It was easy to assemble, is light weight, and has multiple attachments. I first used the smaller spray attachment on my test rug and sprayed the directed mixture onto my carpet. The directions were followed, and I had relative success using that attachment. The carpet looked cleaner. I noticed the other attachment was for Long nap carpets, and I attached it to my machine and tried it out.
This is what I noticed. The larger attachment used more water, and did not suction the residual water up as well as the spray attachment. I saturated a 2×4 section quickly with the deep carpet attachment, and suctioned the water up with the spray attachment.
The directions suggested to lift the sprayer 12” above the area to be sprayed. This works! I was able to direct the stream to where I wanted it, and saturate whatever I was spraying. The area I was able to cover was greater with the sprayer in one tub of cleaning solution. Each attachment has its use for different applications. The deep carpet tool is good for carpets, and rugs. Spend extra time sucking the water back up without pressing the spray trigger on the handle.
When emptying the dirty tank I unscrewed the bottom of the tank and internal parts to empty it. I have a chance to rinse the innards and inspect for clogs, easily reassemble, securely attach the bottom piece and return to the machine. The rubber grommet is for drying. Pop it open after emptying and before storing to keep it from developing a dirty smell.
I have used an ensyme in the sprayer attachment that also works well at neutralizing pet odors, leaving a fresh scent behind, that I use to battle pet smell. I fine it at a local ranch and home store. It is an ensyme pet odor neutralizer, and I buy it by the gallon.
I am pleased with my purchase. This tool is going to be important in cleaning up big and small messes. Each tool has a particular use, and if you use the right attachment for the right job, make sure the ring on the bottom of the dirty tank is secure, and the drying grommets are closed this is a good machine that doesn’t leak, and does a good job cleaning.

I have two dogs and there is always a little accident somewhere. I purchase lots of products to clean up after pets because I can’t stand pet odor, specifically urine in my home.
I love this product. It’s easy to use, lightweight, easy to store and has about the best cleaning power and suction as you can expect from a small home appliance for this purpose.
I used it in a couple of tough stains on the carpet and found it very impressive with a just one application to the stain (puppy threw up awful bile “bright neon yellow” stain on light gray carpet. ). I did pretreat the stain but it was dry when I found it, so assume pre treating is wise but it did wok on stain that had been there at least a day or two.
I also used it where my dog had an Number 1 accident in bed the seeped into my expensive mattress. I was devastated as my dog never has done that before and I had only just removed our regular mattress pad for regular cleaning!
I used this on my mattress and admittedly went over and over the stain several
Times to be sure I got everything I could. I found it to have worked very well! I just made sure I always allowed the suction to continue until I could see very little water sucking back up. It was crazy how dark the dirty water tank was! Especially since I keep a very clean bed and always have a mattress pad on. I now know that mattresses can be pretty grimy no matter how clean you are.
I will use this for the same purpose and for other stains around the house. I have other Bissell products like this but in a small upright I use for cleaning carpet traffic areas and pet stains. I find these products to be great long lasting appliances as long as you make SURE to clean them well after each use. Never leave dirty water or left over solution inside the machine when storing or eventually your gaskets and filter hoses etc will break down. So clean after use as directed and you will have it forever.
Also, I think they are quite economically priced for the good quality they deliver. The solutions work pretty well also but I always suggest pretreating difficult stains for best results. I also suggest really using the suction to get up as much as you can as leaving to much of the solution behind will probably bring on more staining later and take a longer time than necessary to dry.
Love my Bissell products and I am totally uncompensated, just a regular customer with strong positive opinion.

Great little machine but I wish the hose was longer. I use it for detailing cars and would like to get another 2-3 feet of reach.

My dog decided that her new place to have accidents was going to be in my new couch. At first I bought some pet store products that would help with removing stains and odor. They kind of worked, not really. Then I decided to try “home remedies” with baking soda and basically ruined my couch. My next step was to call a professional…they quoted me $250-$350. So I did a little bit of research and watched some YouTube videos and discovered this amazing guy for a fraction of the price and figured I’d probably be needing it again in the future when my dog decides she mad at me and wants to let me know. 2 days later it was at my house and I was so excited to use it (I’m getting old). I followed the instructions, pretreated the stains and holy bissell was I amazed. This thing crushesI’ve recommended it to everyone at work with a pet. Super easy to use, smells good and it’s small and portable.

Very good for cleaning smaller spots, only thing is it fills up fast and only lets you fill it up so far before suction stops.

This thing might honestly clean too well. My dog sometimes gets sick and instead of borrowing my moms rug doctor or scrubbing with my hands and a brush I use this and it’s so quick and light. My carpet is tan and when I use this to clean it leaves a white spot on the carpet. It cleans better than the rug doctor. My dog got sick on the fabric couch once(he has digestion issues and we feed him special food but sometimes he just has a bad day. Don’t lynch me for “animal abuse” we treat him well) and this little thing crushed the spot he made.

This gadget is amazing!!! My couch is a few years old and I have two pets. Came home from traveling and my nose blindness was gone, my couch just smelled musty. It took me nearly two hours to clean my entire couch. The dirt that this pulled up was amazing. My fiancé thought our couch was clean, and he was throughly grossed out after seeing the waste tank. Just cleaning one it paid for itself and I have a peace of mind knowing I have this in my house incase of a sick pet. I wish I had bought it sooner

My husband bought this for car detailing, but I used it in our office and it worked wonderfully. It picked up stains (from dirt/clay) that I couldn’t get out with regular spray cleaners and didn’t take long to dry. It is also very easy to clean.

I have dogs. I mean, that pretty much sums up my problem, but to boot, I had an old dog who passed away a few months ago, and in her declining years, she leaked various things. Eww. I also have another dog who likes to lick her paws obsessively, leaving large drool spots wherever she lays. I also foster dogs, so this couch has had like 10 dogs at a time on it before. Look, it was bad. It was try this and if it didn’t work, the couch was going in the dumpster. Good news: it worked. While I may never recover from the trauma of seeing the dirty water tank, and knowing I had been sitting on that for years, it looks like a new couch now. The small size is great for maneuvering. I did have to refill it 3 times to get the whole couch, but we are talking about 6 years of muddy paws and other various yuck. Hopefully future cleanings won’t be so bad. It dried out over night and I woke to a beautiful couch that no longer has a funky dog smell. I’m here for it. I didn’t buy the pet specific one because I’ve been a pet owner long enough to know that all they do it slap a paw print on it and jack up the price. Hard pass. This works great. Going to do my car interior next. Well worth the price, the solution included worked well and doesn’t have an over powering smell. It is a small enough device that I can shove it under the sink. I have no complaints.

We already owned a full-size carpet cleaner but it’s way too cumbersome to move around for spots and staircases.
Enter the SpotClean ProHeat. Before buying this, we watched a ton of YouTube reviews to see what people who already own the thing thinks about it. We evaluated (really just watched a bunch of different videos) There is another machine that is portable and battery operated but the battery run time was way too short and the charging time too long. This machine is not super heavy, easy to carry around and offers good clean/dirty water capacity. We are no experts but we are pet owners and if you have ever had a carpet accident with your pet you know what I mean; after cleaning a spot with this, odor was completely gone and stain too.
At the end of the cleaning the carpet would be a bit wet (don’t expect miracles, just saying) but is dry enough to walk on safely.
