Our “Beeboot” as my wife has renamed it is awesome!! Way exceeded our expectations. I did a lot of research and compared pros and cons with various brands and models and this was truly the best(especially for the price)! It has WiFi for app control, it connects with Alexa, and comes with a remote. My wife vacuumed with our Dyson before hand to tidy up a bit and not overwhelm Beeboot. We still had to empty out his dust bin twice that first time. Keep in mind we have 4 German shepherds and a cat. So now we run Beeboot nightly to clean and he does his own thing while we watch tv. My shepherds just lay around until Beeboot comes around and know enough to move when he comes their way. My cat just hides until Beeboot is done.

We have two large dogs and therefore lots of dog hair. I purchased the ecovac thinking that it would help keep the dust and hair under control until I could vacuum on the weekends. This vacuum exceeded our expectations, we love it. It was so easy to use, even my husband can do it, without assistance. I think he actually likes it. My hardwood floors look and feel awesome. The dogs do not seem to notice or car about it, I was concerned they would eat it when I wasn’t looking. I think if you decide to purchase this unit, you will be very satisfied.

This vacuum works on all types of floors! I have mostly hardwood with some light rugs, and the Deebot handles that well. It works on the brick pavers in the bathrooms, and on the thick plush carpet in the bedrooms. The Deebot automatically adjusts suction power to meet the needs of the room and it very rarely gets stuck. Ususually it will only get stuck when it passes under furniture with very low clearance. The Deebot is fully controllable through the Ecovacs app, and I can turn it on and monitor its battery level from anywhere. The deebot has never fallen off a ledge and it works in all lighting levels even complete darkness. Clean up is fairly simple, the dust bin is removable and you can just dump the debris in the trash. I typically wash the filters once a week and it takes five minutes, but then needs a few hours to air dry. As a fan of Parks & Rec you can attach a bluetooth speaker and turn this vacuum into a mobile DJ.

Absolutely love this thing. I have it set to run at 1:30am while the family sleeps and boy does thing (I named mine Suckatron), do its job! I got this on sale for $199 on here, but I don’t see the need for Alexa connectivity. The app does just fine. These people crying about it, seriously, it’s stupid.
I’ve had it for about two weeks now and it’s finally not filling up as much on the overnight cleaning, which makes me happy. It blows my mind the amount of hair and dirt this thing picks up. We have two dogs and a cat, along with a 2 month old and a 2 year old. I just have to pick up any loose items and wires in the living room, dining room, and kitchen and block the bottom of the fridge (it tends to get jammed under the door and gets stuck), and this little wonder cleans up like a champ
This guy is mighty and worth every penny. If I manage to keep this for over a year, which I’m sure I will, this thing will have cost me less than a $1/day and I can’t put a value on my or my wife’s time that we save with cleaning. I could go on and on, but I won’t. It awesome. You’re silly if you don’t buy this guy. The N79 version probably does just fine, I just happened to catch this one for practically the same price, so that’s why I went for it.
UPDATE: The main brush on our vac went out a few weeks back and the ECOVACS support team has been fantastic and simple to deal with. I sent it back last Friday and the new one arrives just 3 business days later. Amazing customer service. Just hope that this one lasts a lot longer.

I’ve been thinking of purchasing a “robo vac” for a couple of years but was hesitant mainly due to price. After reading other reviews on Amazon, I chose this brand and model. So far, so good! It’s not that noticeable as it finds it’s way around my house in what seems like a random pattern. My main level is 2000 sq. ft. “open concept”, so it has lots of room to roam. My 3 dogs ignore it or move out of the way when it heads in their direction. There hasn’t been any doggie drama at all. It transitions easily from my hardwood flooring to carpet to area rugs. It’s gotten trapped behind some tight places or on an electrical cord a time or two. What amazes me is it fills the dirt cup every day! How did I not notice that much dirt, dust and dog hair before? This vac runs about 1 1/2 hrs, recharges itself & sometimes I send it out for another round. I’m glad I finally bought one. If you’ve been thinking that you might need one, just do it.

I’ve been using this device for about a week.
The first impression is very good: it does not bump as a psycho here or there, it has a logic in it and it _does_ collect dust/trash/pollen.
Okay, Q&A:
** Does it do its direct job, i.e. does it clean carpet/floor?
Yes, it does. I empty its box every day, what makes me think it works.
What I like is that it has very fine filters that catch tiny particles, and – believe it or not – my kid’s allergy has been reduced a lot!
** Is it noisy?
No, actually, it’s not. I can talk normally, but would not like it working while sleeping or reading.
** How long the battery lasts?
About 1.5-2 hours. After that this buddy goes to the charger.
** And does it find it?
Yes, normally does.
** Why just 4 stars?
Because it is stupid enough and sometimes may stuck in a chair: aaaargh, 4 obstacles, enemy within, panic mode, shut down. No, seriously, developers have to do something with this use case.
** Does it clean well? Can you set up cleaning time?
Well, I did not test it by dropping stuff around. But traces tell me it works pretty good + I don’t see any debris around which is good. I set it to 4 pm, so it works just before I return home.
** Does it support smart house apps?
Yes, it can be manage online via smartphone.
** Is it hard to use?
I’ll be honest: I haven’t read the manual. It’s so easy to run, so I read only ‘quick start’ manual, 1 page brochure.
** Is it hard to clean?
It takes about 2 minutes to clean up the tank, filters and the brush. The special tool is included.
** Would you buy it again?
Hard question. It’s definitely worth the money. I like the effect of it. But probably I would put a bit (100-200) more if I had a choice, but market offers really smart devices for about 1000. Ultimately – yes. I would buy it again.
I will update this review if a firmware update makes it smarter or if I completely get disappointed with it

I read reviews that said “Good but you still have to sweep/vacuum.” That was very confusing to me (does it work or not?) so allow me to clarify:
I have 3 young kids and I run Deebot (R2Dbot) after lunch and after dinner. I stack and move all the dinner chairs because under the table is the worst. My table has 6 legs. When I come back downstairs after it runs completely (and usually finds home by itself) I will notice maybe 3 things/areas that it missed. I don’t worry about them. I just run it again after dinner and it will grab what it left behind before, but misses a cheerio here or popcorn there.
I used to sweep 2x a day and vacuum at least every other day. Now I sweep 1x/wk (hard to reach corners and playdoh/salad/wet shredded wheat that Deebot can’t pick up) and vacuum maybe 1x a month. I absolutely love having some help around here and find it so easy to keep the floors clean. It goes easily from the rug, carpet, tile, and hardwood. It pushes large things aside and can manoover out of tricky situations most of the time. It’s not great on mats so I just pick them up before starting it (I would anyway when sweeping). It does my entire main floor without much issue (Kitchen, dining, living, laundry room, bathroom, playroom, and entry way). It has to be rescued about every other day because it ate a huge rubber band, got stuck on rug, or couldn’t get out from under a chair. Because I run it so often and the kids enjoy pushing the start button, it hasn’t bothered me.
Bonus: This thing is fun. Did you know that it has a remote that let’s you drive it like a remote control car? My older kids love that. My 2 year old finally has a best friend. He follows deebot around and laughs at him when he runs into a wall. The thing has paid for itself in babysitting alone. I also love that I can use it to motivate the kids: “Oh no! Let’s pick up these toys before Deebot eats them!” #winning

Setup was a breeze. Let the thing charge for a couple of hours and hit go on the app. I didn’t pay much attention but got a kick out of seeing it whiz past every now and then while I was watching tv. Once the battery was almost dead (about an hour) it started heading back to base. It had some trouble but eventually made it. Anyways, this little suckah did a great job as the compartment was full of junk. Then again, I hadn’t swept or vacuumed in quite awhile. We’ll see about long-term durability on this sub 200.00 robot.
Since it might make it past the 30-day mark in my apparently filthy home, I’ve named it Framboise.
Update: Framboise confessed to murdering 14 backpackers in the pacific northwest prior to shipment. I like it anyways. 🙂
Update 2: It’s been a very long time now. Framboise has been amazing and had zero issues. Made her a cute little outfit.

I was really excited about this product especially after doing my research and reading all of the reviews. Let me start by saying that we have a pretty large open concept home so when people say that it’s best with a smaller houses, follow the advice because it’s true. This drunk bot will run forever in no particular pattern and miss many spots where I can see dirt and hair. Broken down by pros and cons:
Pros:
1. Creepy cool product, I mean, it’s a robot doing your housework!
2. Entertained the cat which entertained us
3. Got underneath furniture without an issue and on and off rugs pretty well
4. Does really well on hard wood floors
Cons:
1. Some settings don’t work in certain houses; the single room setting does not work in an open concept as we don’t have the ability to close off spaces since there are no doors between rooms
2. Didn’t venture into other rooms much; like seriously this bot fell in love with my living room rug!
3. Couldn’t find home to save it’s life. It could be right around the corner from the dock and hitting home would send it off on a wild adventure two rooms away. We had to pick it up every time and put it right in front of the dock to get it to go home.
4. Would leave random dust bunnies behind even though we emptied it, which was pretty counter productive.
So in summary, I would recommend this for someone with a small space but not for large homes and definitely not for open concepts. Unfortunately for us this little guy is going back to the workshop and we are going to move on to a different model, hoping for a better outcome.

Did a LOT of research on robot vacuums before finally purchasing this one. LOVE IT for many reasons:
– cleans better than expected
– navigates the rooms in our house very well
– can go over a pretty steep threshold between our living room and kitchen
– cleans carpets very well
– finds its docking station pretty much every time
– slim fit means it goes under every piece of furniture we own – and I hardly ever cleaned under these (yuck!)
– simple and useable app on my iPhone – can schedule it to turn on whenever you want, any day of the week. Also, you can turn it on from anywhere!
– quiet – not too intrusive even when watching a movie in the same room
So for these reasons I would HIGHLY recommend this little guy! Still remains to be seen how durable it is – so far so good but it’s pretty new still.

20180406 Initial review.
Hi, this is my initial review so please take that into consideration. After a few months I’ll return and update as necessary.
I’ve only owned this unit for a short while, but initial testing looks quite promising. Here are some quick findings:
1) This unit is definitely quieter than some Roomba counterparts (specifically the 770 and 790 which I already own).
2) After a five minute run there was already a lot of stuff pulled into its bin. We were actually kind of stunned, but then not really.
3) The Wi-Fi and Alexa connectivity, though unnecessary, are definitely convenient features to have. When activating the Alexa skill, wait at least 15 minutes AFTER registering your account and device with ECOVACS. Otherwise, you’ll undoubtedly run into the invalid username or password error I (and others) ran into those first few moments.
4) While there is no handle to lift the unit, the unit is remarkably and notably light (compared to a Roomba).
More stuff:
Months ago we adopted a blind corgi puppy. I was reluctant for two reasons: bling and not exactly hypoallergenic (as you can get for a dog, anyway).
Fast forward 6 months and while this puppy is no longer blind, he sheds a lot more than we imagined! We vacuum weekly with a Dyson Ball. We were thinking that the Dyson was picking up everything and that weekly jobs were enough. NOPE! We ran the Deebot after having just vacuumed with the Ball and it to pick up much at all. WRONG!
Attached are two pictures. One of the bin with some stuff in it. That stuff is what it picked up in less than 5 minutes of operating the unit. The second picture is what a bin full of crap looks like after a full cycle of operation on the main floor.
The timing of this purchase couldn’t have been better, too. Our Roomba 790 which was a warranty replacement for a 770 has now finally died. The cost of a new Roomba could easily pay for another two of these Deebots. We’ll definitely be watching Ecovacs closely.

I bought this against my wife’s wishes. She said that we didn’t need a robotic vacuum. However, we are both disabled and vacuuming the main level of our house was very tiring on her because of knee problems, and I have back problems. We received the Deebot N79S on the date that it was expected. I promptly opened the package, got the charger station set up, attached the brushes which was very easy to do, downloaded the app, and put the Deebot onto the charger to let it charge to reach full battery strength. I believe the battery might come already charged, but I left it on the charger for 4 hours.
When I went to set up the Deebot onto my wifi Orbi system which creates one network name for my entire house, I was unable to connect it on that strong network. I believe this is because of the wifi’s 5 Ghz system, and it will only set up on a 2.4 Ghz system. Fortunately, I have a wifi extender that is not part of Orbi that is still connected and I was able to connect my Deebot to that.
The Deebot comes with a remote that you can use to get it going, so having the wifi set up is not as important, especially those with no internet. Setting the time on the remote was very easy and that was all that I did with that. It was late at night (I am a night owl), and I pressed the auto button on my Deebot and it started going to town. I watched as the Deebot as it went from area to area. I have hardwood floors, low pile carpet, carpet runners, and linoleum in the downstairs of my house, and the Deebot was able to handle them all.
After the Deebot was finished it found itself back to the charging station to start recharging. I can say that Deebot performed very well. All of my carpeted areas were great looking and it cleaned the dust on my hardwoods. When I went to empty the collection bin, it was quite full. It was easy to open and to discard into my trashcan. Some of the spinner brushes had been warped out of shape in the process of maneuvering around objects. It comes with a spare set of brushes, but I left the current ones in because they were not terribly warped. I might change them out after my third vacuuming. I would highly advise that you get the accessory kit with the extra spinning brushes, the filters, and a spare brush roller. I have that on my order list to get this week.
Overall, the Deebot works great!! I am giving it 4-stars because of the need to change the spinner brushes more often than you would expect. The spinner brushes are its one flaw. I would highly recommend the Deebot N79S to anyone who hates vacuuming and who does not have high pile, or shag carpets. If you found this review helpful, please click the YES icon.
Just to note, I am an Amazon prime customer and I have not been compensated, nor have I been provided a free product in relation to this review. It is my own opinion on the product and may not reflect other’s opinions. If after a few months use, and I find that the Deebot is not performing as spectacularly as it did during the first and second vacuuming. I will come back and update my review.

This is absolutely the best thing I’ve EVER purchased. My husband was annoyed at first claiming it was frivolous and unnecessary…but after we followed it around for an hour the first day, we can’t believe we ever lived without it. We have it set to run at 7am after we leave for work… we empty it when we get home and have perfect carpet lines in our area rug and clean corners, but have it set to run again at 7 pm after dinner. My dog doesn’t care about it, it’s relatively quiet, and it just plain WORKS. I love that it’s connected to Alexa, so if I’m home and feel like it needs to run again, I can say, “Alexa, have Rosie start cleaning” and off she goes. If you’re on the fence about this, just buy it. You won’t regret it. My only regret is that I didn’t pull the trigger and order sooner. I just can’t believe how much better I feel about life when my corners aren’t dusty and I have vacuum lines. It’s really the perfect invention.

I could see how a lot of people gave this vacuum 5 stars. It picks up A LOT of dirt. However, I noticed a consistent trail of dog fur following the width of the brush under the robot. I guess with the price point it is definitely acceptable. This is even imediately after fully cleaning the brush. It does go back home to charge as it should, and it’s a great little vacuum.
Reasons for 3 stars:
1. disappointment with the app. Will only work with 2.4 not 5 gig bandwidth, yet it wouldn’t even connect to my cox 2.4 gig saying it was “not able to connect to it.” The roomba I just bought connected perfectly the first time.
2. Trail of dog fur behind the robot the width of the main brush underneath.
3. Random cleaning pattern does not cover the whole floor as efficiently as it needs to in a complex floor plan.
If you want it to “help” cleaning your floor, don’t hesitate and buy it you will not be dissapppinted. If you want it to “substitute for you vacuuming” and you have more than a 1-2 room area with little to no obstructions (bedroom it’s good for kitchen with chairs it’s not) then buy a roomba 980. For my first floor it did not do the job but I did keep it For the upstairs bedroom, walk in closet, and hallway.

What can I say? We have a chocolate lab and I feel like this thing picks up an entire extra dog when I empty it everyday. The cleaning/suction power is impressive. Have had a few probably blems with it getting stuck but my husband fixed the problem by putting bumpers under the couch. Love the Bluetooth feature from your mobile device. I have it on a cleaning shedule evey morning at 3AM and wake up to freshly vacuumed carpets. With our busy schedules, I love that I can still get my carpets to have those clean lines everyday without having to do hardly anything. If only Delores (that’d what we call it) could empty herself everyday and do the dishes.
Follow up: I’m still pleased with my clean carpets, but this thing cannot seem to find it’s home to save its life (literally its battery goes completely dead looking for the dock station). It also constantly gets high centered on top of dog bones, which I try to pick up but honestly, I can’t comtrol where my dogs keep their toys 24/7. Also, it bangs into our bedroom door during its cleaning schedule at night which wakes us up. When I try to use the Bluetooth app to send it back to the charger when it’s keeping me up at night, it CANNOT find it’s home. It’s like it ignores my commands and keeps on cleaning and banging into our bedroom door until I have to crawl out of bed and pick it up to take it back to charge…so annoying. It’s wheels are super noisy on our tile floor, which also wakes us at night. Decided to let it clean while I’m home due to these inconveniences which works but wasn’t what we intended when we bought it. Definitely not made for our open concept living room/home.

I don’t review products nearly as often as I should, but great products make me so happy, I just feel compelled to write a short review.
First, I had an issue with the initial setup, and I think its just because I turned the unit on before I configured the wireless, so I called the customer support line and got someone within 90 seconds, wow. The woman was incredibly helpful, stepped me through the set up and away it went. I expressed some concerns about the unit getting lost and inquired about getting a second charger, in case. She said, no problem, we’ll send you another.
Second; operation. Amazing. I sit around watching this thing go and I am amazed at how the algorithm navigates around chair legs and very tight spaces. I have two long-haired cats and with them, its impossible to keep the floors clean. It jumps up from bare floor to carpet and carpet onto rugs effortlessly. The App for the phone is just perfect, you can operate from work, which is what I do. Go off to work, set it in motion, despite a large first floor footprint, it finds itself back to the charger just about every time. About an hour or two before I head home from work, I schedule it to start again, or manually start it remotely and come home to a clean house. WOW. Battery life is more that enough to clean a 1500 square foot surface in one charge, about two hours
Third; quality. It does a surprisingly good job at cleaning. It picks up small dirt, hairs, everything. Does edges well and even cleans the chair feet better than expected. I have also very clean carpets and runs. The quality of the device is quite good, its not rugged by any means, but I don’t see any vulnerabilities making it prone to breakage. It hops up on my medium pile carpet and even hops up on rugs that are on the carpet
Four; maintenance, well, I’ve only had it a couple of days, but the receptacle gets full easily. The filters are easy to clean, the roller brush is a little hard to clean, but I see four screws and I suspect I can just take the roller brush out and clean it more effectively that way. The entire receptacle, brushes and filters can easily be removed and washed.
Lastly; downsides. There are few. The unit will get caught up in wires, so need to clear them. Also, I have a sliding glass door with a ridge, be sure to close those doors, it will get hung up. It will also get hung up on raised vents. I would like to see in a future firmware an alert for the receptacle being full, this is something it needs, an alert to tell you it needs to be emptied. Also, would be nice to get an alert if the unit get stuck on something, otherwise, it will try for a while and put itself on standby and there is no way to tell its not just back into its station, like an alert or text on your phone.
June 2019 update: Still love it. This darn thing is still running strong. Don’t buy cheap supplies like brushes. The aftermarket side and main brushes are not good quality. Spend the money and buy the brand. Three times a day she runs without problem for almost the last year. Still going strong. Once again, would be nice to have a remote alert when she gets stuck or when the receptacle is full. Why not have firmware updates ???

As I write this review from work, my loyal Debo (as I’ve affectionately named him) is scouring my house, looking for dust and crumbs to eat.
Debo is my first robovac, and his adoption fee was a very reasonable $200 (w/ coupon). So far, he has been a (mostly) good boy. When I first let him venture the house, he explored for a little while and then went under the recliner and wouldn’t come out. I quickly coaxed him out, and off he went again. He also drug around a small floor mat while my back was turned, but I quickly took it away from him as soon as I noticed it. He’s pretty smart – he stays in his bed until I call him out, and then when I tell him to go back to his bed, he goes right back and waits patiently. He’s pretty quiet too – sometimes he runs up behind me and I don’t even notice until I feel him at my feet. Also, he eats very well, as is proven when I have to toss out his business on a daily basis. 😉
I certainly wouldn’t mind adopting another one to live on my second floor if he or she is as well-behaved and loyal as Debo is.

I bought my robot on March 5th. As soon as I received it, my husband put it together, and said, that he had no problems at all, setting it up. I downloaded the App, but I do not use it often. My 19th year old autistic son named the robot: Amber. I love Amber. She saves me so much work. She gets stuck sometimes, as she tries her hardest, when she does the edges, and she does not take no for an answer, when I tried to put some obstacles in her way, in order to protect the electrical cords. She mistakenly takes my obstacles, as edges, and she pushes against them, trying to clean them. She does the edges very well, by the way. I found that her cleaning is pretty thorough. If you want the maximum result, allow her to roam around, and do her work. She will eventually pick up that dirt, that you think, that she has neglected. Her pattern is random, and she is not in a rush during her run. I usually let her do her thing, and I get busy, doing something else. Her charge can last close to 2 hours. She does not do well with dark furniture, and she bumps into them. She is gentle, however. I have not seen any damage. When she is persistent in her edge cleaning, she moves things around, and she beeps when she is in trouble. At first, it took her awhile to get back to her base, especially if she is vacuuming an other room. But if she is in the same room as her base, she will find it. Since I have a large great room, she gets confused a bit. She has gotten better, though. I love Amber. She does not complain, and she never talks back. I think that Ecovacs Robotic has greater potential in the robotic cleaning industry. They have been able to provide to someone like myself, a very easy to use robot. I am not into complicated features, that I may not even use, and I have the feeling, that they will be coming out with more outstanding and more sophisticated features, for the special group of buyers who want them! The most important thing should always be Customer satisfaction, and every industry should thrive for that. “If you build it, they will come.”
NOTE: I did not get paid or received a discount for my opinion! I just love my Amber.

I bought a Deebot N79S back in June because I wanted to simplify cleaning around the house. I have it running on the second floor, where the majority of the rooms and hallway are low pile carpet, with a laminate floor in one and bathroom vinyl floor. On the first run of the Deebot it was completely filled with dirt, and that was after the floors had already been swept by my vacuum cleaner! I was very surprised by how much dirt it had picked up! With subsequent times the Deebot ran, it did pick up less and less, but still a solid coating of dust on the filter net every time.
I liked how it worked so much that I purchased another one for downstairs. Unfortunately, it doesn’t get good traction on the high pile carpet (I had no idea it was high pile until talking to my landlord, thought it was medium pile). I’m right at the deadline to return it, but since I did run the unit I decided that I’d keep both Deebots and schedule them on alternating days (one M/W/F, the other Tu/Th/Sa).
I highly recommend installing the Deebot app on a phone or tablet to use instead of the remotes. Like I said previously, you can schedule them to run on specific days and create different schedules, where the remote would only allow for the same time every day. It’s also convenient that I can control both of my Deebots with one tablet rather than using two separate remotes.
The charging unit probably doesn’t need as much clearance as they suggest in the manual. I’ve been able to work with a 2 foot clearance on either side of it without an issue.
I recommend that you get this unit, especially if they’re running a coupon special on Amazon. I was able to buy one of mine for less than $180.

Read a bunch of reviews for various vacuums and this seems to be a good buy for the price. Had it for a few days now. Does a great job picking everything up, even when I just vacuumed!
However, there seems to be a lot of interference with the charging dock. The vacuum will literally pass its charging dock (within 6 ft) to get to the living room where I assume other, stronger infrared signals are calling it. (I think Sonos Playbase is the culprit, though it could be the Apple TV, or Smart TV.) It encircles the entertainment center for hours rather than finding its dock in the adjacent room. I have had to resort to putting the dock in the living room near the other signals (why not utilize the existing power to draw the bot). Though I’d prefer the vacuum be in a less conspicuous area, I think I will get used to it.
JC Hudder –
I’m obsessed with this device. I love that I can be at work and randomly turn this vacuum on from my phone to mess with my husband. I love that I can set a cleaning schedule. It does a great job on our laminate and thin rug. We have a lab/sheppard mix who sheds like crazy but this vacuum robot has made it much more manageable. We have a one year old so we really needed to be more consistent with the vacuuming. It’s awesome. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because while it has arrows as if I can direct it from my phone or remote it does not seem to work that way at all. Also, when I send it to charge it sometimes takes forever to find its way home. I have to make a point to try to send it home before it dies completely, it has gotten so lost that it has died before making it home after a regularly scheduled cleaning while I’m out. It charges really quickly and all but it has minimal sense of direction sometimes.
