Noise Level is pretty low on this thing. you can actually have a conversation.
Mobility while vacuuming is high.
The Front brush will drag the vacuum forward, so you have to use less effort to push it.
It picks up edges and corners better than my previous blocky vac.
The floors end up pretty clean
So far the cons are pretty much figuring out something new works.
Suction is good, but it seems to be just good enough to do the job, so I’m not sure how well it would perform for a more industrial job.

I like the fact that it auto adjusts for whatever flooring and/or carpet height you have. And, it has some strong suction, right up to when the canister is full of dirt. It cleans the rugs better than my old vacuum. It also seems to clean better along the edges than my old vacuum did. Definitely quieter than my old vacuum. Beware though, the attachments and hose are an oddball size. That’s OK with me though, until I lose or break one. I also like that you can clean the canister filter with soap and water.

I love this new vacuum. It is much lighter and more efficient than the 20 year old Dyson it replaced. The suction is as good or better than the Dyson and this machine is much easier to maneuver. I am super happy with this purchase. As with any new appliance it takes a few times to get used to its application. I really like the button that turns on or off the roller. I find it great value for the money spent.

For suction power, this is a fantastic vacuum and transitions easily between carpet and tile/hard flooring. At first I was a little skeptical of the smaller container holding everything and if I would need to go over my carpeted area twice. However I went over areas a second time and didn’t get much else. My only con for this vacuum is that hair does get caught around the roller brush. We only have one dog, a golden and my hair is long as well. When I’m done vacuuming I have to take scissors and remove the hair around the roller brush. It doesn’t take long but it is a surprising inconvenience for a “pet vacuum”.

I love this vacuum!! I am the QUEEN of vacuum cleaners lol. I buy one at least twice a year! I think I use it like normal but they either get clogged so badly, loses suction etc. I have taken apart so many vacuums to clean etc. I bought this vacuum and loved it! I have had EVERY brand known to mankind. This is the only vacuum that I have had that when it needed to be replaced I actually bought the same one again. I gave never done that before. I will always buy Eureka from now on. You won’t be sorry. My other vacuums, were made so flimsy. You take off the canister and clean and cheap parts fall off, break in half, latches break, you name it. This is one of the only lengthy surveys that I actually filled out. To all the ladies who go through vacuums like I did, you won’t be sorry. I have a huge dog, I use for the car, I am very pleased.
Consumer Reviews –
Great and conveniently lightweight, strong suction, easy to maneuver at a great price point. Does the same job as a high priced Dyson. Requires periodic filter cleaning, easy to do. A breeze to put together right out of the box. Tested on carpet, tiles, and wooden floors alike. Picks up cat litter and hair 1-2-3. A great buy for pet owners. It truly sucks like a pro! Overall, highly recommend!

I have had a shark the past 6 years that finely quit on me. I loved it and was worried this vacuum wouldn’t be as good as the shark. I have a long hair Great Pyrenees and she sheds all year long. This vacuum was awesome if not better than my shark. So glad I purchased it.

I LOVE this vacuum! We got our house re-carpeted so the pile is 1/2 an inch and it doesn’t get stuck or pull the carpet up like a standard vacuum. I like that you can adjust the suction. I like that it has a button to turn on and off the brush when you go from carpet to hard floors. The cord is a good length. I can go pretty far without unplugging the vacuum to reach an entire floor in my house. The only thing I would change is the canister is small, so I have to dump after vacuuming one floor. We have 5 people and one cat in the house. It maneuvers so much better than a standard vacuum, I can reach a lot more areas without a lot of hassle. I like how they designed the vacuum to allow ease when vacuuming your stairs. The attachments are useful and the vacuum is fairly light. I think it’s worth the extra money!

My Dyson is 10 years old and is showing its age. (I can’t use the hose because it is taped together.) I didn’t want to pay for another Dyson, though, so I looked for something cheaper. I also wanted to try out the HEPA filter, as I have cats and am also allergic to them. (Don’t judge me…adopted the cats before finding out I was allergic.) I just got the vacuum today, so I’m giving the review after my first use.
Pros:
+ Longer cord so I don’t have to keep unplugging/replugging to use around the house
+ Strong suction!!
+ Can use the hose without having to use the extension rod/handle AND without having to uncoil the cord all the way (like with my Dyson)
+ Easy to open canister for disposal of dust/hair/etc.
Cons:
– Longer cord to coil up
– Little awkward on stairs (Dyson feels more secure to hold and vacuum)
– Feels slightly heavier than my old Dyson (but still manageable)
Overall, I think it is a decent vacuum for the price.

I bought this vacuum to replace the Eureka pet vacuum that I had. That vacuum recently died after 1.5 years of use (I cleaned it regularly, replaced the filters, etc. but they just don’t make things to last anymore..). Sadly they don’t make that vacuum anymore so I ended up with this one. My last Eureka was a 10/10, and this one is probably a 5/10, and it cost almost twice as much. I’d return it, but I already used it..
Pros:
The swivel head makes it easy to get around furniture, and under some of it.
It seems to suck well, the canister filled after only half the house (see the con on this below).
Cons:
The canister filled after vacuuming half my house. I vacuum twice a week so my house isn’t dirty, and have a small three bedroom ranch, so this vacuum might be best suited for a one bedroom apartment or condo.
Don’t buy this is you have a pet, especially a long haired dog. I have a cat, who doesn’t really shed, but the brush roller needed to be cleaned after one use. My last brush roller never needed to be cleaned because the hair didn’t get stuck. Kind of annoying to have to sit down and clean the vacuum after cleaning the house..
The mechanism to make the vacuum lean back is shoddy. My last one had a lever you stepped on, this one you just step on the front part and yank it back. I don’t see this lasting/plastic will inevitably break.
The whole brush-off for non-carpet areas is annoying. My last vacuum worked on hard flooring even with the brush going. The button is in an inconvenient spot too. Would have been better on the handle (same with the power button). This makes it difficult to vacuum rooms with hard flooring and rugs.
I would recommend this vacuum for carpet and low rugs only. It’s a total pain on rugs and ended up sucking my shag faux fur rug up even though I picked the vacuum up with every sweep. Also, this vacuum weighs a lot so not ideal.
If you’re moving something out of the way to vacuum, even if it only takes a second, you have to turn the vacuum off otherwise the brush runs like mad when it’s in an upright position.. was kind of concerned it’d mess my carpet up.
Overall it does the job, but requires more work to use and maintain than my last Eureka, which isn’t ideal.

I was really excited about this vacuum cleaner since our vacuum broke few days ago and needed it badly. It was well packaged but the instructions were not easily to follow and not very well written. It assumes where the parts go, and the design was not the best near the handle, it felt that something was missing. The instruction booklet did not really picture that the handle was hollow at the top. There is nothing to cover that empty spot. I do understand that it is used for the extension suction hose, but they should have designed a cover for it. When that section is used, any dust or dirt collected from the extension hose will be visible in the future since it is open, since there is no cover.
Again the instructions were not easy to follow and on first attempt to run the vacuum failed because the hoses were incorrectly connected. Then I figured it out and it was AMAZING. The power suction is very good and it is not very loud like the previous Shark vacuum we had.
It is very easy to maneuver with its large back wheels, and is easy to clean with. I only tried it on the carpet and it really sucked so much dirt I was astonished.
The weight was heavier than the previous one we had, weighing about 20 lbs. Carrying it up the stairs was not bad but it was heavier than the previous one we had and was noticeable.
The attachments have not been used yet, but their positions seem out of place. Have not had any problems in them falling off yet as some have complained.
Overall the vacuum seems to be working better than expected and glad I did choose it. Will be updating later in few time to see how well it remains that good. For the money, it is a good deal.

I have a large, long-haired Husky/Great Pyrenees/Golden Retriever mix, so shedding is kind of a situation in this house. When I unpacked the vacuum, I was discouraged by the size of the dirt canister, which appeared to be small. However, I used the vacuum to clean the living room, office, dining room, and kitchen, and the vacuum did a FANTASTIC job. The rest of the house didn’t need to be vacuumed, so I only did those rooms, but there was still plenty of room in the canister to suck up more dirt/dander/dog hair.
The vacuum is very lightweight, sucks well, quiet, easy to set up, very affordable, maneuvers into a lot of small spaces, and looks like a Storm Trooper. I recommend it.

THE GOOD:
-Good suction power and the ability to strengthen/weaken that suction power on the hose tube. Be careful running over threads on rugs or any strings/headphones, etc. on the floor. It will suck them up fast!
-It’s nice that the bottom cover can be removed very easily using a coin (see picture) if something gets stuck or if hair, etc. needs to be removed from the roller. my old vacuum was held in place with six screws.
-Very easy to steer
– Pet hair roller, while the bristles only turn with the suction of the vacuum, can often stop. It still works well for vacuuming out the car and floor mats
– Washable filters will be nice to save money on throwaway ones. Instructions say to let dry for 24 hours but mine needed three days to totally dry.
– Good value for the price
ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT:
– This vacuum should but doesn’t come with the beige 4 inch attachment from my old vacuum shown in my photo and my old one is the same diameter as this hose so they can’t connect. I use it to clean countertops of food and dust before I wash them and also use the attachment it on the stairs. The only option with this one for something like that is the small round end of the hose or the bristled dusting brush. Further, by not having the flexibility of an extension hose, using the handle as the extension hose means the vacuum has to be three feet away from the edge of the counter and I can’t make tight angles An extension hose with a short end would make it much easier to vacuum sharper angels. I’ve looked at three hardware stores for a PVC pipe that would connect them but haven’t found one, yet.
– I don’t like the angled piece for using the hose. It’s awkward and doesn’t help.
-While the removable handle is nice because it allows for storage in smaller closets like mine, I would rather have an extension hose.
-The cord attaches very low on the machine and has to be held in place by my fingers up on the handle. Otherwise I trip on it every five feet.
– The pictures show this nice & easy push button maneuver to completely empty the canister, but you’ll still have to stick you hand up in it to remove the clumps of hair. Not too big of a deal for me, though
-As expected it comes in a very large box and would be very tempting for a porch pirate to run up and snag it. If you’re not positive you’ll be home, arrange for a pickup at one of the Amazon pickup locations near you.

Replaced an ancient canister vacuum that died. First upright vacuum I’ve owned in over 35 years. So far I love it on my carpets, not so good on the hardwood floors. Reasonably maneuverable, but doesn’t get under furniture or into tight spaces. Seems heavy to me, but then I’m not use to upright vacuums. Miss having the dirt go into a bag that also served as a HEPA filter. Do love the long cord, can do 3 large rooms without having to change outlets. Would recommend this to others.

I really wanted to like this vacuum. Instead, I really dislike it. The pet brush falls off the body of the machine regularly so I’m unable to have it on board where it’s handy. I’m tired of constantly picking it up. Crevice tool does the same unless you really PUSH it in place. The extra long cord is nice except it unwinds on it’s own so if you unwind say 3 feet, the minute you move it will continue to unwind the rest. More than once I’ve tripped over the cord that unwound around me without my realizing it. Suction on throw rugs is too strong and on hard floors is at best so-so. Picks up cat litter then spits it out elsewhere. I can not recommend this machine nor would I buy it again. Returning it and will go on the search again for a decent machine. Reviews not too helpful any more on Amazon. Hard to trust them.

So far so good. We have 3 dogs so we vacuum at least 4 times a week. So needless to say I end up buying a new vacuum every 2-3 years even with it being stored inside we go through them. This one is nice, like how easy it is to get around the furniture. Suction is good, weight is good, noise level is good. The only thing I can complain about and it’s not really it’s fault, is the debris compartment. It’s not very big at all, well not big when you have 3 dogs and live on acreage. My floors are my never ending battle.
Anyway, I have to empty it after every room. I had been without a working vacuum for 7 days when this one arrived. I had to empty the bin during and after I vacuumed each room. I like it enough though that, that doesn’t really bother me. I would recommend this vacuum.

I have two of these now – one for upstairs, one for downstairs – and I’m very happy with both. They’re economical, get the job done, and require only occasional maintenance that’s within any homeowner’s skills. If I have a criticism, it would be only that they’re not easy to carry up and down the stairs, which is why I have two of them (surprise, surprise). But I have a warning for others who are in my particular circumstances:
Eureka has not yet completely solved The Problem of The Newf!
Mind you, no other vacuum cleaner maker has done so either. But if you have a longhaired dog that sheds a whole bunch, as my Newfoundland does, you must remain vigilant: long dog hair can stop any rotary process in existence. That most definitely includes the roller brush on your Eureka NEU522. To restore function, you must open the bottom plate on the vacuum cleaner power head and manually detangle the roller. This is not something to be done with your fingernails. So keep the required tools close to hand:
1. A flat-blade screwdriver;
2. A utility knife (a.k.a. a boxcutter);
3. A small, sharp scissors;
4. A fresh bottle of Harvey’s Bristol Cream Sherry.
Trust me, you will need them all, though #4 is for after the job is done.
But all in all: Bravo, Eureka! Or should that be: Eureka, Bravo! — ? Well, anyway: five stars!

After 3 months my belt broke. When I called to get a new one the manufacturer told me that the belt needs replaced every 3 to 4 months! What?! These belts are not available in my area and can range from $20 to $30. I would have never bought this product if I knew I was gonna have to buy a new belt every 3 months. This is my 2nd Eureka; my first one is over 12 yrs old and I have NEVER had to replace the belt. Sadly the hose has ripped and it started loosing suction. Then the manufacturer tells me that the belt warranty is only for 3 to 4 months(doesn’t say anywhere in owner’s about belt needing to be replaced every 3 months) and that they will need to get back to me about a possible replacement. Hopefully they will come through with a new belt. In the meantime I went out and invested in a Shark and let’s just say I will never buy another Eureka.

Had a 7 year old dirt devil. I have 2 husky mixes, one who digs every time it rains. My house is mostly hard floor and area rugs. Moving from rug to floor without having to bend over is a blessing. I don’t like having to bend over to switch to hose. I am constantly knocking it over and having a hard time when using the hose. The suction from the hose is far better than anything I have ever had. It actually gets the hair off the carpet and couch. I vacuumed the day before the new one arrived. So I wasn’t expecting to pull 3 canisters full of hair and dirt out of my rugs/floors when I tried it out but I did. It is so much smoother moving from back strokes for forward strokes. Much quieter than my dirt devil. I can do the most of the first floor from one plug. Nice long cord.
Only had it a few days but so far great suction and overall good performance for the money. Of this thing can keep up the performance for a reasonable life span than it will be well worth it.

Loved the deep, fantastic cleaning. It has super suction. It is compact and moves well across surfaces. It does take a little extra to push and pull on thick carpet. It’s great on floors. The canister will lift off with the hose attachment for moving around but it’s on the heavy side. The pet brush on the front falls off constantly so I took it off. If you don’t put vacuum in the right position, it will fall over. Just click it straight up and it’s good. I’ve used it several times now, got use to how it functions and it’s worth it for the positives. It is not as loud as other vacuums either. Forget the ones with motors in the handle. They are awful. I am happy with this vacuum.
