Cat, Chris and Family –
Wow. That’s all I can say. This is possibly the best vacuum I have ever owned. I usually buy the cheaper ones from Walmart So I don’t have much to compare this to when it comes down to other highquality name brand vaccuums.
I live in a house with 2 dogs, one cat, 2 parakeets, 2 gerbils, 3 kids and a husband. Needless to say, we have a lot of dirt and pet hair and dander on our carpets. My previous vacuum just hasn’t been doing it for us and it has been leaving behind a lot of dog hair that I just can’t get up. I hate the feeling of sitting down on the carpet and getting covered in dog and cat hair even after vacuuming. This vacuum does the trick!
First of all, the suction on this vacuum is very strong and sucks up anything it goes over. If you will look at my last picture I posted you will see all the hair in the canister from just one vacuuming. This is all the accumulating hair that has been shoved into my carpet that I have not been able to vacuum up. This vacuum got it all.
It comes with a large removeable want at the top for you to use with the hose for extra extension and it also comes with another brush piece for using on couches, curtains or whatever you need to use it for. The suction is also strong with these. It did a good job at getting the hair out of the corners near my baseboards.
What I really like about this vacuum is that the cord is extra long. With my previous vacuum I had to unplug it and switch outlets halfway through my vacuuming session because I have a very long living Room. That was a pain. I don’t have to do that with this vacuum and even have room to spare with this cord. The canister is also double the size of my other vacuum canister. So has removeable, re usable and washable filters.
Vacuum cleaner is a win and I heartily approve.

I used a moderately priced Dyson for the last few years, until the motor went out on it. I purchased the Hoover in the hopes that it was better than the one I previously had, years ago. I have three big dogs, so lots of dog hair; unfortunately, the Hoover doesn’t do a good job vacuuming; it’s VERY hard to push and won’t even pick up lint on the carpet. The Dyson used to pick up a lot of dog hair, the container was always full, but the Hoover barely seems to pick up any. Not sure why, since the suction seems sufficient and everything is working properly. Guess the Hoover will be going to Goodwill, since the packaging is already gone. What a waste of money.

The one star is knocked off due to not getting a new vacuum though I paid for new vacuum.
The vaccuum is excellent is you have furry friends. I always had issues with air circulation in the house and wearing our pets on our clothes when leaving our house. We had to buy loads of lint rollers and use them every time to go out, but this vaccuum seems to have stopped the need for lint rollers. It picks up all the hairs, dust, and particles in the hair and leaves the house feeling a lot cleaner. My PC desk is in the place in the house with the least air circulation and is always covered in dust, but with this vaccuum it really removes all the dust and hair.
The accessories also make it manageable to reach hard to reach areas and clean them. Would recommend.

This vacuum is AMAZING. I vacuumed with my old vacuum, then let my roomba vacuum, and immediate after I vacuumed with this one. I had 3/4 of a dirt bin full of dust & dirt. My carpets and rugs are completely rejuvenated.

was 3 days late on delivery. Amazon said it was a WH issue and not their fault they did not carry this item in house. My question was why is it prime then? Vacuum works great. hose for detachable part not long enough and is very stiff. 10 foot power cord i was able to vacuum inside car.

Based on reviews I went a head and purchased the Hoover Pet Max. I have a Bissel Pet but it has stopped working. The Hoover has a wider head and the attachments are sturdy, more so than the Bissel, the cords are about the same length . It is pretty loud but it picks up everything. I tried it on hard woods, carpets and picking up cat litter. When picking up the cat litter it didn’t shoot it out the back of the vacuum like the other one. I used the Bissel first then ran over the same places with the Hoover. It picked up what the bissel left behind. I’ve included some photos, and a picture of my Malamute that is blowing coat like crazy and leaves floors everywhere, this vacuum works great!

I had previously gone back to a bagged vacuum after my first canister vac proved to be a disaster to clean. It seemed to clog with hair with each use, and I had to wash filters out constantly.
I took a chance, and bought THIS vacuum. It is built different than the older model and can collect more hair than I thought without losing suction. While I do need to empty it fairly frequently, I can at least see enough inside the clear collection container to know when to do so. Emptying it is EASY, and while I do need to take the canister apart after a few uses to knock off dust accumulation, I’m not rinsing filters out that often (currently rinsing out after 6 uses – and the filter isn’t really getting that dirty.
On another note, the weight of the vacuum is somehow listed at over 23 lbs. I believe that is an error and is a ‘shipping’ weight (with box and packaging figured in). The weight of the vacuum is around 17 lbs, and pushes nicely on the floor. Don’t worry about the weight if you are getting this for pet hair.

I replaced my old vacuum with this one. I am impressed with this vacuum while being equally alarmed by how awful a job my last vacuum (that was very expensive) did. I only got this vacuum because I broke my last one by catching the hose (that was in the front of the vacuum) on a cabinet. Another feature I like about this one is the hose from the bottom of the vacuum to the collection container is on the back.
This vacuum comes apart in 3 locations (by simply twisting) to remove anything that might have been sucked up on accident as opposed to having to get the screwdriver out and take apart the whole vacuum apart like previous models I have owned.
The hose is easy to use and the attachments are lifesavers. The pet hair one is super impressive and the dusting one gets the job done (you may have to Swiffer for small tight spaces and tiny corners though). I keep the pet attachment in a drawer as I kept knocking it off the vacuum where it attaches and it made the hose hard to fit behind furniture I was trying to vacuum behind. All of the attachments you need are included. There is no extra charge for ordering other parts. The filters are washable and it comes with 2. If you are washing one, you can use the other one. The cord is super long. I do wish it would rewind on its own. However, a vacuum I owned in the past did rewind on its own and that feature stopped working about 2 years into owning it.
It is not on a ball (like a Dyson) so it is not as easy to maneuver, but it does the job. If you find the vacuum has too much resistance than you probably have to floor setting too low. You just need to adjust the height on the dial.
It is on the heavy side and it is fairly loud. If you are looking for a lighter and quieter model than this is not for you. However, every vacuum has its own pros and cons. The lighter and quieter vacuums do not have the same suction power as this one. It just depends on what you are looking for.

Life in your 30’s: Getting excited by a new Vacuum cleaner.
This has to be one of the best purchases I made in 2020! My old Vacuum by another brand simply decided to quit on me one day so after research settled on this one.
I was a little apprehensive at first after seeing reviews say that it was heavy. I have Fibromyalgia and often maneuvering anything is a struggle but this really isn’t that heavy at all. It’s actually lighter than my last one! I’m able to maneuver it fairly easily with minimal struggle and the handle to carry it upstairs makes it even easier. It’s not at all “clunky” so I’m baffled as to how one reviewer claimed it ripped their couch.
The suction is great too! We have 2 cats constantly shedding fur and although we have a Roomba do its thing every day I still go around myself and vacuum 2-3 times a week. The first use after Roomba had been around was amazing! (See picture’s)
The only small downside I found was the foot leaver to move the handle down can be a little tricky and needs a decent amount of force I don’t always have.
“Its very loud/noisy” My response to this is that it really isn’t. It’s much quieter than my 2 previous and it has intense suction so it will produce noise. This is a great buy especially considering the price.

I’ve had this vacuum for 5 months now and the suction is still extremely powerful. I’ve had up to 3 dogs at one time and they were no match for this vacuum. The only downside is when using the attachment tools and reaching for high up places. The suction is so powerful that it causes the tubing to retract so you can’t reach as far without causing the vacuum canister to tip over or move. I’m tall and have long arms so not too big of an issue for me but perhaps making the “wand” extendable would be helpful for others.

This is a must have. Received a few days ago and have used 2 times. Wow! Can’t believe the amount of hair my other cleaner has missed. If you have dogs, this is a must. I have 3 large hairy dogs who shed all year. Canister is easy to open and clean, long cord and when I turned it over there was NO hair to been seen on the roller. I’m 60 yo, it was a bit heavy to push but well worth the results.

I’ve got 3 dogs and two cats and needless to say keeping the floors clean is a daily chore!! I’ve owned quite a few vaccum cleaners and the most recent was a Shark.
I was pretty pleased w the Shark but after a year the motor would start to heat up and shut down for about 30-45 minutes and additionally the brush/beater started to loose its speed and was leaving more & more stuff behind on the floor…..it was time for a change.
After doing a ton of research I ended up buying the Hoover Pet Max and after about 10 minutes with it I was VERY impressed. It picked up SO much dust and fine hairs my Shark left behind.
It has different carpet pile height switch and when switched to low and running it over a very low pile area rug I found it felt like a “heavy” vaccum and not “light on its feet”, so it’s not a terribly maneuverable.
Overall I’m SUPER happy with it so far, and the Shark has been relegated to doing the hardwoods.
Graewolf –
Cleans very very powerfully and effectively. It sucked up massive amounts of dirt and pet hair, even after my regular, seemingly very effective Hoover Wind Tunnel vacuum had been thoroughly used immediately prior.
The vacuum I am reviewing was VERY HEAVY and HARD TO MANEUVER. I was very disappointed that I had to return it for that reason.
Tools, particularly the wand, were awkward to use. Wand wasn’t long enough, didn’t have enough “give” when stretching to reach high or hard to get at surfaces. I was disappointed in the design and scant number of tools, with the exception of the powerful and highly effective motorized attachment which excelled on furniture, (would on stairs too, although I don’t have stairs.)
It’s overall a very well-made, high-quality vacuum, if you don’t mind the weight and very difficult maneuverability.
That said, the few other brands I’ve looked at (I am limited to Lowe’s, their poor selection, which is chained together so it is difficult to test, especially since they have very few or well-trained human service employees there, and no place to actually test the product), are very lightweight– (read: very poorly and cheaply made, brittle, thin, breakable plastic, unlike the vacuum I am reviewing, and I doubt they would last more than a couple weeks to a couple months.)
It is unfortunate that you can’t test a lot of vacuums over the internet, and returns, while made much easier by Amazon, are still a pain, as you have to repackage the product as it was when you received it, and return it at a UPS store.
Needless to say, I haven’t had the patience to repeat the process and am therefore still stuck with my old, dying and falling-apart vacuum. I know of NO sewing and/or vacuum stores anywhere near where I live.

Okay, keep in mind I’m writing this review having received it today, assembled it, and used it. Review may change over time.
Let me start off by saying well done to Amazon for shipping so fast during COVID 19. I would have completely understood if the shipping would have taken longer. But I digress. The pet max was super easy to assemble. Even if you want to caveman it and not read the directions it’s all pretty easy to figure out.
Secondly this vaccum had a big job to do. My last vaccum broke (caught fire) 3 weeks ago. And with all that was going on our budget was dedicated for preparing to stay home the next 3 weeks to a month. So I went without a vaccum for nearly a month. This wouldn’t be so bad…..had we not had a husky mix that just started losing the bulk of her winter coat. If you have a husky then you know what that is like. It’s different from the year round shed. So my house looked as if my dog had exploded. So I started this bad boy in the worst room which was the office. Clumps of dog fur practically embedded in the carpet. And there are few words that accurately describe the satisfaction I got from just vacuuming one long strip in the middle if this room and seeing that difference. All I can say is that it was nearly a sexual experience. I didn’t even have to go over any spots twice.
Thirdly, after having swept the room I looked down at the brush roll which atypically is matted with long strands of fur at this point. And I usually have to grab a pair of scissors and cut it free. And oh Lawd….yes…..YES!!! THERE WAS NO FUR TO WRESTLE OUT IF IT!!! Words can not describe my joy. I think I’ll light a few candles, poor a glass of bubbly and sit in a hot bubble bath while the Hoover sits in the corner and watches.
I have yet to try the attachments and had I done so there would be a whole new dialogue of innuendo. Which I may grace you with that at a later date.
In short, Hoover, well done with this machine. I am very impressed and completely satisfied.

Pros:
Great on hard floors – very strong vacuum.
Great at getting pet hair off rugs and carpets.
Easy to empty and keep clean.
Cons:
No basic brush attachment, and that’s what I use most out attachments. There’s nothing good for getting under beds or couches. (The pet brush, duster or corner attachment don’t work well in these cases). I wish I could buy a brush head.
It’s quite heavy. I’d imagine some folks would have a hard time maneuvering it.
There’s no way to turn off the spinning brush as you vacuum rugs and any tassels will get shredded, it’s so strong.
With power comes noise. This is the loudest vacuum I’ve owned.

This product works better than I expected. The suction at Max suction is incredibly powerful. Both the floor vacuum and wand pick up a ton of dog hair. Using the attachment on the wand, I was able to get dog hair off of furniture that I was never able to before and it came off with ease. The led light makes finding dirt/dust/hair on the floor much easier; I actually vacuum without turning lights on because it’s easier to see where the dirt is with the lights off and the led from the vacuum on. This vacuum can reach pretty far underneath furniture and clean areas I was never able to get to before. I would definitely recommend this vacuum for anyone with pets.

It has great suction power but is very heavy and almost useless on stairs. If you have a one story home it would work well. Emptying can be a bit messy and awkward. BUT…. It DID get up a LOT OF CAT HAIR. My belt broke after less than 3 months. Had to replace. Would I recommend. Toss up.

Overall this vacuum met my expectations. I own two cats and live in a 1500 sq ft apartment that is 98% hardwood so I needed something that would work on both my floors and rugs. I deducted a star for the following reasons:
– It’s not great picking up litter. True to its claim, it doesn’t scatter, but what I’ve found is that there’s something on the bottom that grinds the litter into a powder that sticks to the hardwood when I vacuum through it backwards. I have to scrape it with my fingernail to loosen it before I’m able to vacuum it up. This isn’t as bad if I only go forward with the vacuum, which isn’t the end of the world but it’s kind of annoying.
– There’s a high pitched shrieking noise that’s been happening while I’m sweeping (I’ve used the machine less than 10 times) and I imagine I’ll have to address that soon, no idea if it’ll be under warranty.
– The pet tool attachment IS super finicky/annoying/borderline useless. With some finessing it does the job, but I wish the tool wasn’t designed to stop spinning as soon as it comes into contact with fabric. It seems counterproductive since it’s very purpose is to clean upholstery…
It’s a quality product for the price. I think if I had more carpets I’d likely be more pleased with it. My rugs have never looked better and it does an awesome job getting all the pet hair!

I vacuum with this Hoover Pet Max on carpet, large floor rugs and WilsonArt laminate wood flooring.
The 3 main reasons I bought this vacuum, over all the other upright bagless vacuums out there :
1) The large 2.5L dirt canister. The trend for newer model upright bagless vacuums are these small, 1.5L dirt canisters. If I spend good money for a quality upright bagless vacuum, that vacuum will have a decently sized dirt canister.
2) Performance. When this vacuum was delivered, I vacuumed my entire house: carpet, rugs, tile floor, laminate floor. The suction and ability to pick up debris in a single pass is great. The anti scatter seal, located just behind the brush roll on the underside of the vacuum, this seal keeps dirt within the brush roll area while vacuuming hard flooring. The 3 attachments work well. The Pet turbo tool works fine yet the same pet turbo tool from my previous Hoover works just a bit better. My old Hoover tools fit this new vacuum fine. The dirt canister is easy to remove and empty. Most important : the dirt canister does not clog. The dirt canister has small air holes at the top where air escapes the canister. My old vacuum, a $100 Hoover windtunnel, these air holes would clog with dust. With this Hoover PetMax vacuum, all the dirt and dust stay at the bottom of the dirt canister and the top area has no dust accumulation.
3) Durable build quality. The D shaped handle and the gauge of the plastic parts is substantial. My previous vacuum, a $100 windtunnel, ended up with several breaks to plastic parts over the years, including a broken plastic handle. My old vacuum developed air leaks at the dirt canister and this reduced suction. I sealed these leaks with duct tape. I realized I got what I paid for : a $100 vacuum. Every vacuum brand makes their low cost version of a vacuum cleaner. I spent more for this PetMax and I got a more durable handle, a more durable dirt canister. It is worth buying quality now and not having to duct tape in the future.

We have 2 dogs at home and this vacuum does WORK! It picks up so much dirt and hair it’s crazy. I also love that it’s so easy to take apart and reassemble so it’s easy to clean. It also comes with 2 filters so you can rinse out 1 and use the other while it dries, you don’t have to wait to vacuum! You can also go from tall carpet to hard wood floors. I always sweep and then vacuum up the dirt and hair and it works great for that. The hose is very powerful also! I can vacuum the dogs’ beds and ceiling corners and everything with ease. The only thing that some people may not care for, is the vacuum is pretty heavy. But for how well it works, I don’t mind the work out! It glides effortlessly on hard wood, there’s just a little more resistance on carpet. But I gave it 5 stars just because of how well it works!

This vacuum is amazing for sucking up dog hair. I have 2 50 lb. dogs with lots of fur. I have two 5 X 5 area rugs that I tested this unit on. I vacuumed it with my little cordless before using this Hoover. When I was finished with the Hoover I had half a tank full of hair and debris – yuck. Also I do not see any hairs wrapped around the roller yet which has always been a big problem for me between my dogs and my son with rock-n-roll hair. Now for the minor issues. When I do need to clean the roller eventually it is not going to be that easy to get to as you need to unscrew the hood before being able to access the roller. I love my smaller unit because access to the roller is so much easier but that one didn’t have enough power as my test revealed. Also, the reach of the hose is not as good as it appears in the video. in order to reach out you do need to pick up the entire unit which is less than ideal for someone who is aging like myself. luckily my ceilings are only 8 feet so I am able to manage for now. All in all this is a great unit for suction power, large roller, width is amazing and the onboard tools are convenient. For the good price I do not regret getting this unit and I know Hoover is quality so it will last. I highly recommend this for all you pet lovers.
