Bought a bagless Windtunnel Hoover a few years ago, hated it from about the second time I used it – when I had to empty the dust chamber. If you have pets with hair (and many do!), the hair gets tangled into globs in the collection chamber and you have to dig it out with some long device (I used the handle of a fly swatter)- and the chamber has to be emptied essentially every time you use it because it’s so small. Had to go out to the garage to empty it, because it makes a mess. SO, after a particularly frustrating attempt to empty the stupid thing in the freezing cold garage and getting dust and hair all over myself, I broke down and bought the same model but with bags. It’s SO much better. It’s lighter, better suction, and very easy to change the bags, which have a much bigger capacity. Yes, you have to buy bags, but that is the trade off, and I think it’s well worth it. I think this is a great vacuum cleaner for the price, strong suction, easy to use, one screw assembly, and the parts are interchangeable with my old bagless Hoover so I now have a double long extension tube if I need it. Oh, and by the way, there is a little hook up by the handle to slide the cord into to position it up off the floor, since some people mentioned that the cord attached near the floor was a problem. Also came securely boxed in cardboard only, no styrofoam, yaayyy!

Hated to empty my bagless vacuum. Disgusting in every way.
Love my new Hepa bagged vacuum.
Extra long cord.
Wide cleaning head. I
Light weight
Quick easy adjustments for
height and roller brush controll for hard floor.
Good suction
Easy to manuever.
The extra expense of Hepa bags are worth not having to empty out a disgusting bagless vacuum.
UPDATE 5/31
The Quick drop bag attachment system is a joke. No way possible for the bag to make a tight seal.
Lots of dust gets by and gets caught by both bottom and side filters.
Just take out the 4 screws and remove the quick drop bag holder. Works like a charm just pressing bag all the way in till flush like old school.
I Still LOVE this vacuum. so light weight and easy to make quick adjustments. Engineering marvel.
Front light, extra handle in front makes vacuum stairs EZ.

We had a Shark for years , got sucked into the whole bag less vacuum crazy. Until you realize that every time you go dump that canister out you are trying to stay away from a cloud of the filth you have just sucked up from all over your house. No more poo particle inhalation for me. Once the bag is full just pop the door off and take it to the trash and the bag slips right out. No HEPA cloud nightmare anymore. Wow bagged is where it’s at and will stay. So glad we bought this. The suction on this seems better than the shark as well.

I love this vacuum. I can clean my wood floors and my high pile area rug. I love the attachment for my couch.

We have had two Hoover WindTunnel vacuum cleaners over the years. We have always been frustrated that, while there is an option for vacuuming hard floors, the older model simply shots debris from hard floors toward your feet like a sandblaster (and yes, we followed the settings directed in manual for cleaning hard floors). The portion on the old machine intended to hold the hose constantly snagged furniture and it was heavy to maneuver. This new machine is MUCH lighter (good for someone like me with a terrible back), power button is finally in a logical place, the power cord is a lot longer, and the foot pedal to disengage the brush so that cleaning hard floor surfaces actually works. As the owner of two cats, I appreciate the excellent suction for their fur. This machine is such an improvement that we are giving away our older and still functioning model and buying a 2nd one of this newer model to keep upstairs. Brilliant makeover from top to bottom.

This is a fine upright bagged vacuum. I have a perfectly good bagless vac that I loathe using because it has so many filters. I realized I would vacuum more often if I didn’t have to clean all the filtering parts. I much prefer a secure bag I can toss out. My grades for this new Hoover:
Assembly: A. Easy to follow instructions. I have arthritis in both hands but had no problem.
Suction: A+ It has excellent suction. For my low pile indoor mats, I had to adjust the cleaning height to “High”. For very thick carpets, it will do a VERY thorough cleaning, but you might have to push it a bit harder.
Cleaning attachments: A. The edge cleaning tool is thinner and therefore works better. It’s wonderful. Haven’t tried upholstery attachment yet.
Cord: It’s LONG. But, if you want to, you can keep part of it wound around the clips on the back of the vac. Also, to avoid pushing the vac over the cord, there’s a small cord clip right behind the handle.
Hose: It’s made of heavier flexible plastic that’s hard to find on other vacuums. It will last a long time.
Manoeving: B. It doesn’t move by itself. You have to push. But I had no problem going around and under some pieces of furniture. The suction is so strong that the vac picks up debris and dirt in front, of course, but also on both sides of it. I didn’t have to do separate edge cleaning.
Overall, for the price and features, and the strong suction, I’m really pleased with this Hoover.

Very light weight with gentle self propel. Easy to assemble. Suction power is great! Have not tried the attachments yet but I’m sure they will be good. The floor option seems gentle on my hardwood floors and it cleans up dust bunnies very nicely! I bought this to replace my 1980’s Hoover that the motor finally burned out. This one is so much easier to handle and maneuver! Wish the old Hoover broke down sooner! The only thing I miss about my old Hoover is the power cord retractor but not a deal breaker. Also, my old one is made out of metal vs plastic which makes it sturdy but also very heavy compared to this one. I don’t mind that this one is made with plastic parts.
Update: I was able to use the attachments a few times now and they are wonderful! Very user friendly and easy to put together. Since the vacuum is so lightweight, I was able to vacuum most of the steps, using attachments, by myself and not have to rely on a second person to hold the vacuum. The suction power is incredible! My stairs are carpeted and thick dust builds up around the edges and this vacuum cleaned it much better than my old Hoover and Kirby. So glad I purchased this! Would highly recommend!

Cleans well
A bit noisy
Easy to assemble. Plastic appears inexpensive quality.
Will see how it holds up …time will tell.

I love the vacuum cleaner and I have another, very similar Hoover upright in storage in another state and that cleaner is around 10 years old. I have always trusted Hoover products and this upright has not disappointed. I’ve read some of the reviews where some have complained about the noise. The sound that comes from the vacuum is like a vacuum cleaner. You simply cannot get away from the sound, but is no louder than any other cleaner I’ve used…or observed being used.
I’ve also read reviews complaining that the upright is made of plastic. Well…it is made of ‘heavyweight’ plastic, just like the one I currently have in storage. But I have never had an issue because of the material used in this product. In fact, it gets it share of bangs, bumps into furniture, scrapes and scratches…and none of those factors have in any way compromised the piece. It is sturdy, well-built, and functions just as I would want it to. My one complaint is that it came with one extension piece and so it is not conducive to getting that occasional dust-web in the corner at ceiling height.

We upgraded from a $70 Bissel vacuum that was a total mistake in the first place. This Hoover model has the HEPA filter bag that runs noticeably cleaner than our old vacuum. The air coming out of the vacuum is clean and not dusty like most cheap vacuums without a HEPA filter. The quality you get with this vacuum for the price is well worth it.
First of all, the cord is 30 ft long, so you do not have to re-plug it after every few steps. There is a cool hand tool -you can use it to clean sofas, chairs, even vents. Suction power is better than bagless models.
The only downside I can think of – it is quite louder than other models I was looking at.
Overall, we are very happy with it, definitely recommend it. It is hard to find a vacuum with a HEPA filter at a lower price point.

We bought this Hoover to replace our cannister-vacuum, which is tedious to drag through a house filled with furniture, decorations, guitars and other musical instruments. Yes, these do have to be moved for a thorough cleaning, but we don’t always want to do that; sometimes we want a quick clean in between. This Hoover is perfect for both tasks.
It has both a powerful beater-bar, and crazy-strong suction, so you will easily get your carpets clean, whatever their length. The suction is also great when you use the hose and attachments to do your spot-cleaning. Best of all, it uses a disposable bag, so cleaning is less messy, and the filtering action actually improves as the bag gets fuller. The vacuum has a simple Green-Red indicator on top which warns you in advance that a bag is getting full.
The beater-belt is easy to change, as are the other HEPA-style filters, and controls for tilting, beater-brush height and on-off switch are all easy and logical. Everything is in one neat package that stores in a small space, certainly much less space that a canister vacuum. It’s not too heavy, yet heavy enough to bear down on embedded dirt, and feels like it will last a long time.
All in all we are very please with its looks, ease-of-use and powerful performance. Dollar for dollar, a better value than any over-priced Dyson ball.

This is a good vacuum but there is some blatant trickery. I’ve been in the professional cleaning game for over 10 years and this “new” model (UH30301) is actually the older model(UH30300) that was discontinued. Let me explain. For 10 years, I used multiple Hoover model UH30300’s for my professional cleaning service and loved them. They were branded the “Hoover T-series Windtunnel”. They were durable and reliable. They retailed for $100 but often were on sale for cheaper. Then around 1.5 years ago they were discontinued. I was not happy! I had to buy different models that I wasn’t happy with. Then several months ago Hoover introduced the “New” model(UH30301) and branded it “Hoover T-series Windtunnel TEMPO. I looked at all the details/pics of the new model and it appeared to be the exact vacuum as the older model but with a higher price tag. So I ordered one. It is indeed the EXACT same vacuum as the older model just with the new name “Tempo”…and the new price is 50% higher. I’m glad they brought back this vacuum and am also VERY glad they didn’t change(cheapen) anything. But I’m NOT happy with the price increase and the trickery in the marketing of this “new” model. I feel like I’m being lied to. But, I will continue to buy them because this vacuum suits the needs of my company the best.
Dear Hoover, It’s not nice to B.S. people. That is all.

After owning a very expensive name-brand sweater the past 4 years I have decided to return to Hoover. I was not impressed, nor did I like the features of the $450 sweeper I have previously been using after deciding to try a different brand than Hoover. Prior to purchasing the other brand I had the Hoover Anniversary Upright which I still own and use in my garage for dirty jobs. I am BACK, and I love it. This sweeper is great for the price. It is lightweight and the suction is GREAT. I don’t need a lot of bells and whistles, and this has the basics, which I love. Because of the lower cost I won’t feel badly replacing it in a few years if I want something new. It is easy to maneuver and the cord is wrapped independently of the suction tube for tools, which was my biggest beef on the last sweeper I owned!
This sweeper is loud, but it is no different than the other Hoovers I have owned for the past 30 years. If you want a quiet sweeper you will have to give up the great features and economic cost of Hoover and go to something much more expensive, which in my opinion wasn’t worth it. I love the attachments, EXCEPT that this one does not have the plastic pet upholstery tool with grooved teeth. It only comes with a bristled upholstery tool. The power tool is good, but it is not attached as well as it was on my Anniversary Model and it falls off too easily.

After reading reviews for bagless vacs I decided to stay with Hoover bagged since that’s what I had for 14+ yrs. This vacuum is the upgraded version of the WindTunnel Tempo that it’s replacing and it’s worth considering for the following reasons.
1- Better roller brush powerhead with window to see brush, on/off foot operated brush roller switch on top of power head, upper body release switch at back of power head foot operated and push dial selector to set roller brush height.
2- The hose is very long (finally), rubber coated and well made unlike the old model that was too short, made of cheap weak plastic that collapsed if using the wand and was always coming out of the tabs that held it. There’s a release lock on this one keeps it attached. Don’t let the length concern you it has plenty of suction and stretches out for up high dusting without falling over. A second wand would have been nice but not needed, I still have the old ones which fit if needed.
3- Nice long power cord that comes out the back of powerhead (there’s a notch just below the back of the handle which is meant for it, just push it into it) so you won’t be running over it or having to hold it. Switch is on handle more convenient than on top of body like old one was.
4- The small roller brush tool attaches to the front of the handle and is out of the way, handle also has curved section not found on old model. The upper handle is the only thing you have to attach by removing 1 screw, you slide top of handle into its place then put screw back in using a phillips head screw driver, there’s a card on that screw telling you what to do. It saved Hoover using a really tall box just for that and it’s easy to do, it does not pull out either!
5- One of the best improvements is the bag/holder access door that has a click lock/release and a handle so no more pulling it off, it also holds the bag, there is a red bag holder release that makes changing bags much more pleasant, you just press red holder and bag drops into trash and putting new bag in is just as easy just unfold bag slide it into the holder and when you close the door it will push bag onto the pipe, on old model you had to struggle hoping the bag didn’t tear or if it was on far enough. Hepa filters below and to the side of bag for exhaust air and is why I decided to stay with a bagged vacuum.
6- It has a headlight which I replaced by wiring in two led strip lights (it uses a 921 T10 socket/bulb same as autos, so I just got some 921 male sockets, ran the wire under the edge of power head and into light housing for a clean look) onto the entire bumper front and sides for a brighter experience since my eyes need the light and I won’t need to wear my headlamp, just 2 screws hold bulb lens/cover on. The power cord winds around the tabs on back of vacuum, notch on plug attaches it to itself. The dusting brush fits on the back and the crevice tool fits into the wand which attaches to the side of vacuum. Rubber bumper on powerhead.
7- The suction is amazing, I had to vacuum up a powder like substance which it said in vac instructions might mean the bag would need changing sooner which I did anyway but didn’t have to. Think cornstarch or baby powder all over living room floor and hallway that I’d been walking on for days, it handled that just fine. Some have said this powerhead grabs onto carpet/rug and stops it turning but I was told long ago that with Persian type area rugs like mine that are made on a loom the nap of the threads go in one direction so you just have to vacuum from the opposite end or side to side and that grabbing won’t happen or adjust roller height. On the shag wall to wall carpeting it isn’t even an issue.
8- It has an auto shutoff safety in case you run the motor way too long, if my old vacuum had that I wouldn’t have had to buy this new one but glad I did. Maybe that’s why other reviews complained about it shutting off but I used it for an hour+ getting all that powder up, either stopping the brush turning or shutting vacuum off if I had to move things now that I know you can’t just run a vacuum for too long but it never stopped. I doubt it’s the switch since that’s recessed into the handle out of the way.
9- If you’ve ever used the small roller for upholstery you know it takes getting used to, a light skim is best due to the suction on this.
So, I’m glad I found this and decided to stay with a Hoover bagged vacuum, this is just a really great much improved version (except the light) of the old one and 14+ years is a long time for a vacuum that saw more than its share of dust dirt dog and cat hair all those years with only maintenance being new rollers and belts or filters. Check out the pics.

Love it but the wire to plug in is too low and is always in the way

I’ve had the predecessor Hoover Wind Tunnel like this for years. I prefer the bagged models of vacuums. You open it up, take the bag out, put a new one in, and start running. No cleaning multiple parts of a big bagless unit.
What I like about the new Wind Tunnel:
1. Good Suction. When you use the hosed wand you can really get a feel of how much suction power there is.
2. Wand beater brush head really works well on couches and steps.
3. Ability to stop the beater brush on the bottom of the vac. The old model would throw dirt behind the vacuum on my kitchen tile floor. Shutting the brush off allows the suction only to pick up debris without shooting them out the back.
4. The hose is more flexible and stretches pretty far.
5. The bag compartment was made more user friendly by incorporating a better bag hook up system.
Before I bought this model I purchased an Oreck bagged model for my home and the

I am comparing this vacuum to our previous Kenmore upright. This vacuum does do its job and does it well, but we felt that there could be some improvements. The power and suctions have been great for this unit.
Here are some stuff that we did not like about this vacuum.
– To use the accessories it is cumbersome to retrieve and detach the hose. To detach the hose, the clip is near the bottom.
– While you are using the tube extension you are left with the crevice attachment with nowhere go. The crevice attachment inserts into the extension tube for storage.
– To change from floor mode to carpet brush mode is a foot switch which I find kind of awkward to engage. And it is not a light toe tap. I step down using my heel to actually engage and disengage.
– Hoover could use a stiffer plastic material. As I am pushing the vacuum, I can feel the handle flexing a little bit.
I have not filled up a bag yet, but changing the bag looks easy and clean. Overall the is a good vacuum.

I love this vacuum except I need a longer hose. Lol are u kidding me with the way it’s attached? Can I purchase a hose extension

I love this vacuum! Most vacuums are bagless which I am not a fan of. I have been searching for a hepafiltered bag vacuum for a while and none of the brick and mortar stores seem to carry them anymore. Amazon to my rescue! For the price and features, this cleaner made the top of my list and I am very happy with the unit I received.
Pros:
One of the few vacuums on the market with a quality filtered self sealing bag.
Very light weight.
Suction is very strong!
Great for pet hair.
Attachments are well laid out, easy to use, and great for stairs!
Super easy to assemble.
Long cord and great cord management.
Carpet height adjustment and bare floor options.
Cons:
It’s pretty loud. (But most vacuums are loud)
The built in light isn’t very bright.
Questionable quality of the plastic build, but for the price, it’s about what I expected.

I just tested the vacuum and seems OK. Can be used on hard floor and all the pieces could be stored on the vacuum itself which is very convenient. For maintenance you would need to replace two different filters, apart from the bag as needed. The vacuum was unexpectedly delivered MUCH earlier than the stated delivery date, which is good, but could be problematic as the box shows clearly the content and would be staying there in front of your door if you are not expecting it.
CONS: The box arrive badly damaged, cut all the way through the cardboard. Fortunately I didn’t see any damage in the content of the box.
The piece I received that allows to attach one of the tools to the handle, apparently doesn’t belong to this model as there is an almost 1/2 inch gap to the ridge where it should be attached. I called Hoover and they say that that piece is not in their list so they cannot send it to me by itself and I had to fill a warranty claim to see this resolved (I hope, but I haven’t heard from them yet). It was frustrating to talk to the representative.
I tried online to register my vacuum and the website didn’t recognize model/ code (not in their database, it said), so I had to do it by phone and, of course, the model/code were completely legit.
I really expected Hoover to have a better customer support!
Working girl –
I bought this because it looked like it had less plastic pieces and I like bagged types vacuum cleaners. I only used it for five minutes because it was hurting my back. A old back injury was flaring up due to the repeditive motions combined with using a heavy vacuum. Being handicapped, I realize I need a light weight vacuum that still takes care of the house. If the vacuum is one with an easy push feature, that would be great.
J L F –
After owning a carpet cleaning company years ago I am picky about vacuum cleaners.
For the price I find this to be a very good deal.
Works quite well, not heavy for my wife (She wants a light weight unit).
The beater bar brush can be disabled so it’s not spinning while using the hose.
The bag has a retainer clip to hold it in place unlike other units where the bag can slip off the suction discharge pipe.
Having 3 dogs this is much better than bagless vacuums that fill up quickly and need to be cleaned before resuming.
With this I can quickly swap out the Y bag and continue on without spilling dust and dirt.
Charrye –
My biggest complaint is that it is so loud, I have to turn it off to give my ears a break. When I vacuum the laundry room I need to shut the door so I can vacuum behind the door and it’s it’s so loud it’s deafening. I’m going to start wearing my ear protectors that I use for mowing the yard.
Good vacuuming power is great and I love having a bag for all the dirt and dust and dog hair to go into, when the bag is full all I have to do is throw it in the trash. Vacuum cleaners without bags are disgusting, when you empty the container all the dust and dirt fly back in the air.
Greg Wehr –
Excellent suction. Greatly efficient and easy to use, highly accessible accessories. Long cord. Extra features like brushless setting and height adjustment. Power switch on handle. I watched the unboxing video after I had already bought it, but it made a lot of good points about the quality and value of this machine. I want to take one star off for the cord management system being just a little hinky by having to compete for space with the vacuum hose and the bag compartment closure leaving a gap, but I don’t want to be that petty. This machine has made me WANT to vacuum. It has made me happy and improved my life.
the toy cannon –
I bought this as a replacement for a 10 yr old wind tunnel when the switch mechanism broke. Good features are the long cord, not having self propel which never did work right on the older model, works fine on carpets, don’t need a screwdriver to access the roller or belt, easier bag replacement, and lighter than my older one. Negatives include mediocre performance on hardwoods even on lowest height and brush off. I’ve found that it works better with the brush on otherwise just pushes some debris around instead of sucking up. Hoover skimped on accessories but the old ones fit so no problem there. The belt comes out of the machine way too low. I’ve tucked it under the hose towards the top which helps except when I need to use the hose. Overall for the price I feel that I got what I paid for. There are no models out there that are exactly right.

This little vacum has a lot of suction power. I basically went thru one vacum per year before this one. I am hoping this one last me a couple years as this is the most expensive vacum I’ve bought so far. I’ve had if for 3 months and it still works amazing. I like that the vacum is not too wide on the base so I can get thru smaller spaces. There’s is a nice weight to the vacum and that show that it’s well made. The cord is long enough for me to vacum from room to room without having to unplug the cord from one room to the next. So far I’m loving this vacum a lot.

This is the absolute best vacuum cleaner I’ve purchased since my Hoover Platinum Elite which conked out on me after a year. Great design for ease of use, step-on beater bar shut off, cord holder keeps cord out of the way, super suction, cleans hardwoods as well as shag carpet and low pile really well. Using it a lot to test it out and ensure it holds up and so far it’s great! I wanted a bagged vacuum cleaner so I don’t have to with a disgusting bagless mess. Super lightweight. Attachments stay firmly in place and are not falling off all the time like other vacuums. This vacuum cleaner was a bargain at $99. Loving it!!
