I really, really like this vacuum. It’s possibly the best one I have ever owned. Seriously. It makes vacuuming pretty fun!
Why I bought it/Pros:
1) Really long hose. I can stand up right and not bend over to get things on the ground.
2) Cord rewind.
3) Carpet to hardwood floors.
4) It picks up the DUST on the floor/carpet.
5) One of the attachments doesn’t have bristles, it has rubber pads that work amazing.
Cons:
1) The plug in cord could be longer, honestly.
2) I really hate where the on/off button is. It’s on the back of the machine, kind of low.
3) There is a slight burning plastic smell when I use it. Probably because it’s still new.
4) The extender parts are a kind of a flimsy plastic and I am weary of them.
5) The attachments have to be removed from the device in order to use the hose.
I would 100% buy this vacuum again despite the cons. The first time I used it on the carpet, I immediately turned it off, thinking that it had started to tear up my rug! Little did I know, this machine is a beast and was picking up ALL the dog/cat hair embedded within the carpet. Simply amazing! I had vacuumed using my old machine, thinking it was “clean,” about a week before. How I was wrong. My carpets are like new.

After reading some of these sub-par reviews I am questioning the legitimacy of Amazon reviews; also the IQ of ppl ordering this product.
Best vacuum we’ve bought for the price. We’ve been through 4 vacuums in the last 6yrs.
We have 2 heeler pups, indoor/outdoor dogs. If you have the setting right for carpet height it sucks up fur like, well… a vacuum.
VERY easy to turn on/off.
VERY easy to clean/dump.
VERY easy to rewind the cord.
It is a little heavy, but it works fantastic.

First I feel this vacuum works great – picks up everything- I filled the dust up a quarter of the way first time using it. FYI – I am the type of person who vacuums every day. I thought my Shark vacuum was picking everything up, apparently it wasn’t when I had to go over where I just vacuumed. So now using the Hoover I no longer have to re-vacuum. There is only one thing that could be better- the power cord could be longer for me! Otherwise I am happy I bought this! After reading some not so happy reviews – Sometimes U can get a lemon and I can see why people would be annoyed after spending a decent amount of money!

It’s OK. They made a few changes since the last version which I really loved. The best thing still is the retractable cord. I love that. I also love how they fixed the roller problem. The roller used to keep rolling continuously, even when you put the handle upright. This could damage your carpet if it’s sitting in place while you are vacuuming the drapes. Now, the roller stops rolling until you release the handle and the machine is in motion. And, it has a foot pedal so you can turn the roller off by pressing it down at any time. That is great for hardwood floors, too.
What I don’t like: they moved the power button down low on the body in the back, and that is not as convenient as the last model that had the power button by your fingers on the handle.
Also, the canister is much more difficult to empty and then put back together. I don’t know why they changed that.
Plus, they changed the brush attachment and it doesn’t lock in position so it bends backward while you’re trying to use it. Very poor design.
The same goes for the stick. When you extend it, you twist it and it’s supposed to lock, but it doesn’t. So you’re going along and all of a sudden the stick slides back to the small position. This is completely aggravating. What’s the point of having extending stick if it doesn’t stay extended?!
Overall, it’s still a great vacuum. We have always bought Hoover wind tunnels. They last a long time and they do a good job. I will not buy another one online. I want to see it in the store next time I have to buy one. They last a long time so it’s probably going to be years before I do.

SHOCKED HOW MUCH FINE SAND AND DIRT PARTICLES EVEN & Best vacuum I’ve had in yrs with all it picked up after I just vacuum the day before! Apparently my old vacuum wasn’t doing much. Best suction ever and the attachment stay in place well while vacuuming. I have found with other vacuums they fall off sometimes vacuuming but everything stayed put on board! Emptying the canister with only eight filled 1/ Quarter way for some stuff still got stuck around the center piece I had to pull out ! Allergy sufferers I’ll definitely like this vacuum with a grade HEPA filter system and it seems I could tell the difference after getting all that fine dirt and dust it picked up . Definitely would recommend this vacuum. It was also packed very well and nothing damaged even though the US post office managed to smash the one corner of the box and delayed my delivery a few days transferring it around. Amazon delivery much better!

This vacuum is ok. The power button is in an awkward spot, it’s not on the handle. The dirt cup container is extremely small. You will have to empty it every time you vacuum. It will not empty with the dog hair caught up there, I’d have to stick my fingers up in there to jimmy it out, gross! Amazon advertises this as a pet hair vacuum and Hoover said that ” this is not a pet hair unit.” That is the only reason I bought it, was to pick up dog hair. This is going back. The one cool thing about it is the cord rewind. That was another selling point for me, but it heats up pretty hot sometimes and I have a small apt. Has ok suction but my 6-year-old Eureka did as well. I would not recommend this for anyone with pets.

I have two other vacuum cleaners that are long in the tooth and wanted something better for carpeted floors so I tried one of these as the price was definitely right. We’ve used it for nine months.
Things I like: no bags, inexpensive, don’t have to carry a bunch of pieces around, the retractable cord. Things I don’t like: the hose flops around the back near the floor – some kind of clip would be nice to hold the middle in place, the retractable cord tension is a bit weak, the overall weight, it needs to be emptied and cleaned fairly often.
It pulls up an incredible amount of dirt from the carpet. I can vacuum with my old canisters and then vacuum with the Hoover and it will pull out a ton of additional dirt.
It is somewhat of a pain to clean well. Emptying the canister really isn’t enough. After every two empties, I usually go through it with one of the canister vacuum cleaners. There’s also a filter that it recommends washing every two months but then you can’t use the vacuum for 24 hours. I just vacuumed it off with another vacuum cleaner and it was good to go. So I like this machine but I’d say that it’s a lot easier to use if you have another vacuum cleaner around. It can get hot and give out a burning plastic smell if you don’t keep the thing clean.

I have had this new vacuum for over a month now and am still impressed by it.
I needed to replace my almost 10 year old Hoover UH70825 because small plastic parts started breaking and there is only so much you can fix with ducktape! I did a fair amount of research and landed on this one again. The PRICE is AWESOME! Kept all the things I liked about the old vac, and fixed most of the faults. Excellent suction on all floor types. Excellent performance on cat hair, and litter. You have to love the cord rewind. The hose stretches forever, great for overhead, along with the interesting swivel head brush (new). I am not a fan of the new rubber roller for the pet attachment (it stops too easily on upholstery), but I kept the older brush roller version which I DO LIKE. The carpet brush on/off foot switch is a great addition and the carpet brush turns off when you stand up the handle (the old vac did not have this and I almost ruined an area rug while using the hand tool).
The on/off switch is still a little low on the back of the handle, but then I already was used to that (less than ideal) location.
This vac is easy to empty, and clean out. The whole vortex chamber is now extremely easy to take apart and clean out. I clean it out every time I use it because it is so easy. The times I cleaned out my older vac I had to get out my tools and electric screw driver.
A WORD OF WARNING: The dust chamber lid (on the bottom) has a plastic hinge! Be careful when handling the lid, it is easy to break the pins and sockets. The older vac had exactly the same hinge, which I broke the first year I had it – but I used it for years with a jerry-rigged ducktape hinge. It was not a deal breaker for me, just be aware and careful.
Overall this is still and excellent choice, especially for under $100!

The basic vacuum functions work well. However, the reason I purchased this particular vacuum was because of it’s pivoted brush attachment. This attachment was advertised for use to clean ceiling fan blades. Alas, when I got the vacuum and went to clean my ceiling fan blades, when I applied what I consider a reasonable pressure on the brush, it popped out of position. Furthermore, when using the brush on other surfaces, the brush keeps popping out of position making it’s use quite tedious. UPDATE-My brush had a broken part. Hoover sent me a replacement for free and it works GREAT!
Emptying the vacuum is VERY EASY. The dirt canister pops off of the vacuum, I take it out to my garbage can, push a button and the then dirt drops out the bottom of the canister and into the can. Terrific!
I actually got one of these vacuums and sent it back because the roller-brush on the bottom did not spin when I turned the vacuum on. When I looked at the belt that drives the roller, I could see that it wasn’t in contact with the motor shaft it went around. It looked like someone had forgotten to install a pulley for the belt to ride on. So I assumed it had been manufactured improperly and returned it for a replacement.
When the second vacuum arrived which looked and performed the same, I called Hoover’s Help line. As it turns out, the roller only spins when the vacuum’s handle is released from it’s vertically locked position (which is the proper handle position for vacuuming floors and carpets.) When this sunk into my thick head, it made sense that I didn’t need (or want) the roller-brush to be spinning when I was cleaning my ceiling fans. I SHOULD HAVE CALLED HOOVER WHEN I HAD THE FIRST VACUUM – MY BAD!
Hopfully, this review will help others see the logic Hoover applied to their vacuum’s design.

This is now my 5th vacuum since we started trying to find a replacement for my old “Sears Canister” with a steel hose self propelling model, that was so blooming heavy my poor back required a day off after using. I am not joking that model weight 27lbs that had to be dragged behind. Not a good idea if you have serious back pain.
What we tried:
I tried battery powered vacuums that were great on weight, horrible on battery life that needed 18 hour charge to clean half of a 1250 square foot house (the charge only lasted 20 minutes). It went back.
I tried small cup vacuums that boasted easy cleaning, but literally having to dump the cup, which would drop all over the place when trying to empty requiring YOU to lift it out, carry it over to the garbage, etc. You get it. Messy and cleaned ONE room per dump. That went back.
We have laminate flooring which is difficult at best and close to impossible to keep clean. It can’t use beaters and even the wheels can cause floor scuffing. Don’t get on me about getting the floors actually “clean” since you can’t use water on them. If we had known, well hindsight is more 20/20 then prior. And when you have throw rugs down, even room size rugs are problematic because NO BEATERS can hit the flooring but required on the rugs to remove dirt, and my husband has severe eczema that runs in his family; he literally “snows” with skin.
Outside of a Rainbow, I have yet had a found a vacuum that I truly Love. And if we could have gotten a Rainbow (again, problematic due to laminate flooring, any wet equals ruin) we would have even with the cost factor. However, weight again is a huge consideration and again, having to drag a canister behind, isn’t what was needed.
This vacuum (The Wind Tunnel) has met our severe needs!
Why it works:
–It can clean up little piddly dust off of laminate flooring which is difficult to do. This floor creates static cling which makes everything stick. And it also can pick up bigger chunks without sending them across the floor (another vacuum flaw we encountered at a vacuum store). It cleans edges well which most uprights don’t do that well, but this one works well. And if you need your moulding clean, there’s an attachment that does it well.
–It has an “off” beater switch that you can turn off /on with your foot.
The attachments actually work and make sense for your needs. They aren’t cheaply built and the bristles on them also are strong enough to use on upholsteries to actually move and pick up hair and dust. And remember me saying about Moulding? It can “do an excellent job” on them as well.
–The self winding cord is amazing. It’s so much better than the ratcheted wind which sometimes work, but mostly what it did is crazily wind the cord and hit your feet, your legs in the process. The cord is more than sufficient for its length at 25 feet. It has a cord holder at the top of the back of the machine. It’s a easy fix to a lifelong problem of having to wrap the cord around your neck or shoulders in the process of vacuuming! And not dragging, having to move the cord all over the place in order to vacuum helps when you have body pain and energy requirements.
I emptied the barrel after 2 full vacuums. It was needed. It was one handed, after I removed the container. It was easy to do, and the no touch feature was okay. You still have to pull out any heavy pieces like hair, etc with your hands, but that’s okay when you don’t have to dump the whole thing trailing dust as you’re doing it.
What is missing:
It does NOT have a light. It would have been nice for Hoover to at least include a LED light on the machine for dark areas. It’s a personal pet peeve that many don’t include lights, because it is a weakness.
Outside of that point (and it’s not that lightweight), it is less stress on the back and less hard to wrestle with the vacuum to use, making it ideal for us. I hope this review helps others making up their mind. The brands we have had tried included both Bissell, and Shark. The decision to buy this one wasn’t because of its great price (which it is), but because it could do what we needed it to do which is vacuum the floor with less hassle and pain.

The product is good, but beware you might get a refurbished package, even though you are buying for new product. I could tell it was used and repackaged because of the way the tape was used (like a typical return from a consumer). I also noticed that it was not fully taped either. Here is the final confirmation that it was used – there was fine powder style dirt residual in the vacuum cylinder that was not cleaned as well.
I had the older but similar version of this product that lasted for 4-5 years, so I bought this. Like the product so the 4 stars, 1 less star for – hate the fact that Amazon / Hoover sold me a refurbished product as new.

I did lots of research before selecting this vacuum cleaner. It was on the 2017 10 best vacuum cleaners. I see why.
This thing has got suction like I have never seen before. We have two cats now, and have had 3 previous cats prior to the ones now. Having said that this vacuum cleaner was able to get ALL fur off the flannel bed sheets, suede couch, and bed comforter. I haven’t been able to do that ever with the previous cleaner. The attachment for fur works miracles! The attachment for corners and small spaces is as well, but the pointed angle attachment is not so good. I find the suction is not as powerful but it may be that i need more time tinkering with it.
After the first use, I had to empty out the bagless compartment twice. This was even easy to do! If I have any real complaints it would be the fur is not so easy to get out of the bagless compartment if it isn’t heavy enough of fur. I had to reach with my fingers to pull the fur out on the second round since there wasn’t so much fur as the first time.
The hose is also surprisingly long so that you can use the ‘fur’ attachment and clean drapes and curtains all the way to the ceiling without getting a foot stool.
Yes, i highly recommend this one if you have pets!

The best vacuum cleaner i have ever owned only reason to take 1 star out is its looks repacked if not used as it can be seen in the picture other than that it great no complains so far.

Just arrived…but late. Had to order a back up as the original order never arrived. That hiccup aside, Day One: All pieces arrived. The crevice attachment is hidden in the extension wand so look for it and read the instructions! All pieces went together and assembed easily. I preemptively ordered a space filter and belt because that’s who I am. Always ready. I didn’t run over the cord…because that is bad for cords. I’ve been running a filtered standard upright Hoover that is about 40 years old and it still works but it smells and it’s an eye sore so I got a new one out of pure defiance of my spouse! LOL With one simple pass over my bedroom and office I still practically filled the container with dust and hair so the vacuum on this Cleaner is far superior to my old vacuum. I’m very pleased on day of arrival with every aspect of my purchase. It my experience becomes sub-optimal I’ll return with an update. Today I’m a very happy lady.

With four cats and two kids you can only expect so much from a vacuum. We vacuum almost daily and so far this has been a fantastic purchase. The suction has kept up with cat hair, litter, and everything else so far. There is sufficient power and it’s relatively quiet. It’s not too heavy (average to lightweight) and easy to maneuver/operate. I would place this at the top of a middle tier vacuum. It’s proven to be worth the price.
BGC –
I got this vacuum because my other (older) bag vacuum and Shop Vac just couldn’t handle the hair from my golden retriever.
When it arrived it took just a few minutes to put together and then I was off to the races. In the first day I had this item I used every feature and am very impressed. It cleaned my carpets to the point of them looking better than they have in years – with the added benefit of it not throwing dust/dirt while it cleaned. Using the hard floor setting it sucked up fur and fallen foxtails with ease and if I encountered something that just didn’t want to be sucked, the ability to temporally put the brush roller down took care of it. The fan cleaning attachment worked well and the pet hair attachment made my couch look like new. The only improvement I’d like is if the extension function was a bit more firm when locked into place. My home feels cleaner than it has been since I got my pup 2 years ago.
I would absolutely recommend this vacuum for anyone with pets that shed, even long hair dual coat animals! Great value for the cost.
Eliza –
This isn’t a perfect vacuum but it is amazing for the price!
Pros:
Good suction. Gets up pet hair and dog hair very well out of my carpets.
Great on carpet AND rugs. This vacuum does not eat rugs but still cleans them well.
Easy to empty canister as long as you don’t go past the “max fill” line.
Has a HEPA filter! I will not buy a vacuum without one due to allergies, and this was the least expensive one I found with one.
Surprisingly good at dusting with the triangle brush attachment- I clean my hard surfaces and soft tv speakers with it.
Cons:
Heavier than some other vacuums I looked at.
Could maneuver more easily. It turns corners fine but isn’t amazingly comfortable to use like some of the expensive options on the market.
The rolling brush head attachment jammed within 10 minutes of use. I think some long hair wrapped around it. The vacuum itself doesn’t have this issue, just the attachment. It did work well on pet hair, however.
Overall: I would purchase again. The pros easily outweigh the cons, especially for the price. If you are hoping to spend under $200 then I would recommend this one.

Our Old Hoover Wind Tunnel died after 12 good years of service. We thought why not try another Hoover Wind Tunnel and we are very Happy with our purchase! It is way lighter than our older vacuum & with my bad back that was a very welcome Bonus! We are also very pleased with the retractable cord. It says 25 feet long and it is 25 feet long, but our old one had at least 40 or so feet, so other than that, it is super powerful and the attachments all work great. I do not keep them all with the vacuum as I have some other attachments that I use also. Over All I would definitely recommend this as a Great work horse of a vacuum and very reasonably priced. It is light weight and has a very strong suction on both the main vacuum and when using the attachments on the hose they really get the dirt out from all crevices!
K. Webb –
Just what I expected. Did not exceed my expectations. Is a little lighter than I expected. Suction power is okay, had to go a little shorter than I anticipated but each vacuum is different. The tools and longer hose are definitely the stars. The brush attachment is great for vents and dust. The container is a little messy if you dont empty it into a very deep vessel. The cord rewind is fantastic. Other reviews stated that the cord remaining inside got hot, well that is the case, but pretty obvious in my opinion becauseits wound up right next to the motor, of course it gets hot. I like how the on switch is not foot activated. Good deal for the price. Would buy it again.
Calpha –
Had one for a few years till a plastic switch broke, then tried a Bissel for a few months but was disappointed all around.
Notable features I love on this model:
1. Suction is perfect with minimal residue and ejection out the back. Shoes still recommend for vacuuming cat litter or use hose attachment.
2. Lightweight but heavy enough that it does not tip over when using the hose attachments.
3. Cord rewind, missed this feature so much.
4. attachments are smartly placed and securely snap into place.
meanmommyX –
This is heavy but when the roller brush is on it kind of self propels. Beware the crevice tool comes shoved into the hose. I thought mine was faulty until we figured this out. LOVE retractable cord. LOVE that attachments suction into place. LOVE height adjustments. It’s too big to fit everywhere and the hose is awkward to use. When I used the hose, the vacuum was heavy enough that it did not fall over on me, so winning.
Only real complaint is that the hose that the attachments go to does not securely click back into place. It’s a very weak closure, so every time I’ve vacuumed it has popped off more than once, even though I tried to stretch it so there is NO pressure there. I can see this will be a problem in the future. For $125 I’ll keep it. Definitely an upgrade from my Hoover Windtunnel.
Cassis –
This arrived fast. Easy assembly and I used it right away. Very strong suction, but I will say that it is heavy. I have a long-haired dog and two long-haired cats, so I need a vacuum that can handle a lot of pet hair. There was no hair wound around the roller brush after my first-time use.
The rewind cord works fine. I’ve always held the vacuum cleaner cord in my left hand while vacuuming, so I just let out all the cord when I start. One benefit of doing this is no heat buildup inside the machine. I prefer not having to unwind and wind the cord myself, so I’m a fan of the rewind feature. I did not find the on-off button location terribly inconvenient. The attachments I received are not the exact same as those pictured, but they work fine.
The roller brush on my unit does not stop spinning when in the upright position and there is no special button to control that, so my solution when using attachments is turning the carpet height to the highest setting so there’s less chance of burning up the carpet or the belt.
Overall, it’s a hard-working vacuum cleaner for a great price.

It was love at first use! This bad boy does the job like a beast!
We had a cheap $60 vacuum that lasted about 8 years and only used it for our area rugs. Fast forward to our new house with lots of carpeting and there is no comparison. This Hoover showed us how much dirt our old vacuum was leaving behind. We have a dog and heavy foot traffic in our house.
This Hoover switches from tile floor to carpet with ease. The attachments work just as fantastic. We LOOOOOVE that the filter is reusable. Rinse and let dry. Perfect!
We would give this 10 stars if we could. This baby has NOT disappointed.
****This magnificent machine works like a boss cleaning my car as well.

Love my Hoover WindTunnel 2 which I recently bought specifically for use with hardwood floors.
I researched a number of vacuums that were rated well for use with hardwood floors, and this one continually kept coming up, and I also was impressed seeing it put to it’s paces in my sisters home, so I went and pulled the trigger on it, & glad I did.
Very easy to put together, and use, and my only gripe was going to be the auto recoil mechanism for the cord seemed not to be working, but apparently on this model, you really have to be kind of heavy handed on pressing down on the plastic tab for it to activate, but once I realized that & wasn’t in fear of breaking it, then I felt reassured this vacuum was the right choice.
It’s suction is great, and the associated reach tools for cleaning higher spaces (having a home with 9 ft. ceilings) works wonders for reaching hard to get to spots without a step ladder.
I would recommend this device to anyone seeking a reasonably priced vacuum.
RR Williams –
By my comparison of Amazon’s offered products this is the least expensive bagless vacuum with HEPPA filtration and auto-return cord. Suction is good with an acceptable level of motor noise. I like that the power brush disengages when handle is in upright position. Baseboard edge pickup is very good on right and left sides of the unit but not along the front. Cord length is descent, but five more feet would be very helpful. Bulk cleaning of dirt cup is easy but messy. This is my second purchase of this vacuum style. The first one was bought about five years ago but I became unhappy with it over time. I believe the secret to long term satisfaction is frequent cleaning; don’t let dirt and dust collect more than halfway up the dirt cup even if it requires more than once during a job. Use a toothbrush to clear out smaller crevasses. (Has anyone tried spraying inside of the dirt cup and filter cone with an anti-static product? Maybe Hoover will respond to this question and advise if the spray would harm the unit or make it less effective!)

I got a deal on this used as new and it hasn’t disappointed me. The way the hose is run you might think it wouldn’t work too well. However, it has as much suction power as my old model Dyson, at about a third of the Dyson price 12 years ago. It has held up well for 6 months or so, and hopefully will continue for many years. Just empty the bin after each use and tap lightly to help get the dust out of the filters.
