I really wanted this to be the best vacuum out there, but it’s only just “ok.” It’s lighter than most older, bulkier models. It also swivels, but I don’t really think that makes the vacuum more maneuverable. To me, it makes it more unstable and increases the likelihood it’ll fly out of your hand.
What I DO like is that you can control the brushroller, making it easier to go on and off hard flooring. I also like that you can switch to what’s basically a canister vacuum so you can do stairs.
What I DON’T like is how finicky it can be. There are just too many parts to this vacuum. Taking out the wand isn’t the easiest thing (you need to lift up and out, and don’t forget to unwind your cord all the way, even for quick cleanups!). There aren’t indicator lights for things like letting you know if the brush roller is on or off. You need to manually check if it’s moving. The vacuum is also thinner than most (it reminds me of toy vacuums), meaning you need to make more passes on your carpet to get it just as clean as a bigger model.
Ah, and let’s not forget it doesn’t have anti-hair tangling features. So it’s susceptible to the decades old problem. You’ll need to go in there with scissors to detangle your brush roller.
I’d say if there’s another iteration of this, it’ll probably be the best vacuum. Until then, this is just “ok.”

First off, I want to start off by saying this isn’t my first Kenmore intuition bag vac and that I am a former sears in home appliance repair tech. So this is more of a comparison vs the old model and new model. I only took side by side photos because after all, it really is just a vacuum plus there are other great photos from other reviewers. So… In the past as a sears tech, I have taken apart and replace motors, broken pedals, handle switches, indicator lights, motor control board and the direct drive motors and brushes on the old intuition model. Let me tell ya. I repaired them on a daily basis but I knew that how it was built from within (sturdy) motivated me to buy an intuition. I’ve had my old one since 2013. No problems what so ever. The older model is built to take a beating and from the pictures, you can see the ruggedness of it’s design. Bumpers on the brush head housing, dirty/clean indicator and as you see, the brush housing is larger. The new one, off the bat there were a few things that bothered me. The hose just dangle, the accessories mount isn’t all that great. But! The new intuition is much more maneuverable, much more lighter, I would say probably has a bit more suction power than my old one and what I like most is it’s very versatile. You can hand carry it and the wand is great. Yet! Compared to my old one… Material wise, I’d say they went a bit cheap on the build.
The new one does not have a height adjustment or a clean/dirty indicator. Maybe I’m just more used to the old one still but I think the new model is a bit pricey for it’s build quality. But after 8 years owning the old intuition with 0 problems, it was worth it. Basically paid the same when it was new. I don’t like buying cheap vacs on a yearly basis. I prefer bags. Simply because, in my opinion, has better suction that a bagless. Yes, there are some bagless vacs with good to great suction. But! Let me know for how long that suction lasts without cleaning the internal filters ever so often and let me know how much fun it is dumping the dirt out and getting it all over the place. Believe me I repaired plenty of bagless vacs with the complaints of “not enough suction”. So to wrap it up… I guess I have to get more used to my new intuition. I love how versatile and light it is. The suction power is awesome. Only time will tell really on how reliable it is and build quality.
Update! I really wanted to like this vacuum. Had it for less than a month. The only thing that really started to bother me was the the bags. They got full really fast. Like less than a week of vacuuming fast. It came with bags and I’m basically down to the last bag within a 2.5 weeks span. It says it comes with a years supply of bags. Those bags will be depleted in less than a month. And the bags are $26-29 for 6. Do the math. You’ll be buying bags every month or so. My old intuition is still better. Only thing that separate the old vs new us the light weight and versatility of this vacuum. Other than that. I’ll stick to my old one. This vacuum is going back.

I was not ready for how amazing this lightweight vacuum is! It literally eliminates the guess work of “is my bag full”, “does the filter need changing” as well as an indicator light if the roller jambed on something. I never had a vacuum with a pivot head, so this was a ‘fun’ surprise. I’m so used to the full-size heavy vacs with the large heads which were always a pain to maneuver especially on low pile rugs, that this Kenmore Intuition actually made me want to vacuum more rooms! Best of all, this Kenmore Intuition does not pull up the corners of area rugs or move the rug as your vacuuming. With the smaller width (or ‘head’) of this vacuum, you can actually get into tighter spots, under tables and closer to walls, versus full head vacs. I have not yet detached the unit to do stairs, but I’m sure it’ll be a breeze and effective. The vacuum comes with a HEPA filter and bag already installed, plus 3 extra bags (no extra HEPA filter), but definitely buy more bags and filters as back up. This is a slim, powerful vacuum with a super long cord. Can you tell I love this?!

I bought the Kenmore Intuition upright as a second vacuum for our upstairs bedrooms which is wall to wall carpet. First of all, this is a nice looking vacuum with a modern fresh look that I find appealing. That is about the only good thing I can say. This is a mediocre vacuum for the price. Suction and power is only adequate not premium. The vacuum is 75 decibels noisy with an extra high pitched whine from the airflow. With exception of the metal wand, everything else is plastic. There is no carpet height adjustment for deep cleaning different types of carpet. The Kenmore Intuition is only 11 inches wide so the cleaning path is much narrower than other vacuums which are 13 inches plus. The pivoting head is a selling gimmick to compete with the Dyson Ball and is totally useless and make the Kenmore Intuition harder to control. Lastly, this is not a lightweight vacuum and it takes a bit of effort to push it back and forth. If I had a chance to use it before purchase, I would have purchased something else.

I love this vacuum! I had purchased a Meile canister vacuum, which worked very well, but was difficult for me to use. Although the Meile had great suction, I missed the roller as it was difficult to drag the vacuum head back and forth across the carpet.
This vacuum cleaner is easy to assemble, light weight, great maneuverability, good size (not too big), suction power is fine (the carpet looks vacuumed when you’re done), and the price is reasonable. Especially as it comes already loaded with a bag and comes with extra bags. I used to have a bagless vacuum, and spent as much time cleaning the vacuum as I did vacuuming!
Definitely recommend this vacuum cleaner.

After buying 3 in one year, i was leery of buying yet another but so glad I got this one! It beats the Dirt Devil, Dyson Animal, & Bissell Zing with ease! It’s so easy to go from floor to wand back to floor with ease. And one bag lasts forever! I don’t have stairs so I can’t say how easy it’d be but the wand easily detaches and there is an attachment for that kind of thing so I’d say it’d do good but may get a bit cumbersome to carry. But the wand does stretch a good bit so shouldn’t have to carry it much. The suction on this is great! I’ve lost a bit of change to it! It’ll take a quarter up with no problem! Maneuverability is about like any upright, although a bit better being somewhat more narrow than most. It’s too powerful for small rugs, so I kept my Dyson specifically for those since that’s about all it’s good for anyway. This vacuum is definitely worth the money!

This product replaced a top rated 18 year old Kenmore bagged upright, so that is the basis for comparison. Also, I have only about a month of experience with it, so these are short term impressions.
Pros: Very easy to assemble. Very light weight and highly maneuverable. Great performance on bare flooring and medium height carpeting. Great suction.
Cons: not many. Comes with 3 tools, but has storage for only 2 of them. And that storage consists of 2 pegs, that do not provide very secure attachment, so the tools are easy to dislodge during use. There is no adjustment for carpet height, but works well on short and medium height naps.
Overall: very good for the money! So far, a worthy replacement for a very good older Kenmore.

I have 3 vacuums – this was to replace my every other day upright that died after 8 years. I also have a lite upright for the kitchen and entryway and and a kemmore canister for Spring/Fall and whole house cleaning.
I’ve actually put the little upright and the canister in my storage shed as I no longer need them since this Kenmore does it all, easily and well.
My carpet, installed in 2005, and in need of its yearly cleaning ( have a machine to do it myself) looks amazing on my first use of this Gem! Aside from getting more dirt up, it raised the pile on the carpet as if I’d cleaned it !!! It is heavier than I expected but moves easily, it was very simple to put together – it all just ‘clicks’ in place, instructions were clear ,it lays almost flat for under tables etc, the swivel is new for me but I like it and last but definitely not least – the price was more than reasonable and it arrives a day early from the seller.

Like the headline said, the red makes it so cheerful to use ( I was tempted with green too, both pretty!) I like the attachments, the way you can use as canister, or turn off the brush and do floors. I also like having a bag. I used to have one of those bagless stick things, and it was so light and easy to use but the bagless was disgusting after a while. I wanted bags again. I like how this is no touch bag, HEPA, and works great. Good bright light. Long cord. Comes with 6 bags. Good instruction book. The only bad thing to me it is heavy, maybe coz I was used to the super light stick, this one does take some push pull power ( hey I will get a workout) . Very happy with this vacuum.

I needed a vacuum and I saw one with the Kenmore brand name! My parents used Kenmore products since my childhood and the quality of those products was always superior.
I purchased this vacuum because of the way it maneuvers, the dust bag handling and for the way you can carry it upstairs and reach high places. The Kenmore brand name was also what pushed me to make the purchase.
Powerful, relatively quiet (depends on your point of view), sturdy (does not feel fragile. Weighted properly to allow it to glide) and can get into odd corners on the floor level with it’s “swivel neck”!
A REALLY cool thing is that you can TURN OFF THE BRUSH and just use it’s powerful suction on floors!! I don’t know if that is a current standard on new vaccums, but it is a great feature!!

Best vacuum I’ve ever had. I had a dyson that was almost 2 1/2 times more expensive. I’ve had Hoovers and the other name brands. This one by far exceeds all those put together. I have a German Shepherd, Corgi and 3 cats, two of which are long hair and shed like a dog. I’ve always had trouble getting the animal hair up off rugs and carpet but with this Kenmore vacuum it’s no problem what so ever. It has a light that lets you know when the bag is full. The suction out does the dyson easily. I highly recommend this vacuum to anyone and everyone. Must have if you have pets that shed like crazy.
