I am redoing my entire bathroom, this was bought for that purpose.
So far, we brought the bathroom down to the studs and this vac was able to tackle everything we presented including water left in the trap of the vanity. Also, a plus is that it comes with all the attachments so you save a couple of bucks there.
My overall experience was very positive. Thank you for a great product and for the price.

I got this for my sailboat for general clean-up and occasionally sucking the bilge dry. It appears to be made well, but it only has enough lift to suck a full hose of water from 9″ below the bottom of the vacuum (the bilge is 14″ deep). I can get around this by putting the nozzle at the surface of the water and sucking an air/water mix up the hose. Seems like plenty of suction for general cleaning or sucking water off the floor or carpet. Good product at a good price, but not perfect for my intended purpose. But if you don’t have 120V available, it is a good option.

We’re a family of five with five pets (four cats and a red heeler) and a house with only hardwoods. I’ve always purchased the traditional upright vacuum models, but even the ones that boast being “heavy duty” and “for pets” have not been able to handle the sheer volume of crap that I have to vacuum. I go through at least one vacuum per year. Yes, I’ve considered lightening my load, but I can’t find anyone to take my kids. Kidding, relax, y’all.
Anyway, I’ve already swept the house today and I’ve been going hard with this machine for the past couple of hours. I mean I’ve done the mattresses, door frames, windowsills, vents (inside and out), bed frames, baseboards and I’m telling you, this thing is AMAZING. I’m beyond thrilled.
The machine has a long cord as well as a long hose so I don’t have to switch between outlets too frequently. It only came with one bag, but I’m going to attempt using without once this one is full. It’s also incredibly easy to maneuver. The wheels are smooth in all directions and don’t get stuck awkwardly. It just flows with me. The suction is powerful. I had baking soda all over my queen-sized mattress just now and was able to remove just about all of it within a few minutes, no problems. The insanity inside the floor vents was cleaned out within seconds. I’m actually having a lot of fun. Hahah.
Anyway, I’ve only had this vacuum for a matter of hours, but I absolutely adore it and felt compelled to share my enthusiasm. I’ll update if I manage to destroy it, though.

I’ve used this for both dry and wet and it did a great job with both. It’s size makes it really handy for the garage and around the house. Surprisingly not that loud for the size, I’ve seen smaller ones be really noisy. The only issue I’ve had was getting the plastic ring hold the internal dust cover on, but I might not be using it right. I used a couple zip ties to help secure it.

Knowing that Stanley power tools have taken a hit recently (their own fault for low quality) I was a bit skeptical about this vac. It was the right size and price so I took a chance. It is a nice little vac and seems to work well for what I use it (sawdust). It has good feel and balance (I hate it when they keep tipping over) and the attachments fit and seal nicely. While it boasts 4.5 peak HP, the hose is only 1.25 inches thick, so there is only so much you can do. A bigger hose, like 1.5 or 1.75, would make this a much better vac. Nonetheless, it works well in our basement and I like hos it looks. This is one Stanley i will recommend.

I expected it to be small and boy is it ever. But it does the job excellently. Got it for our patio which constantly stays dirty from the wind. And thats the way we go in and out of our home. So I wanted something I could handle, not the beast hubby has in the garage. It zipped thru the job. Guess you could even say well “it sucks”. LOL So glad I got it.

The vacuum came right on time, two days after my order. The package was not damaged, and was quite large with features and details of the vacuum on the sides. Overall, the vacuum was packed extremely well with everything it said it included such as attachments and an extra disposable filter. Immediately I unpacked the wheels and pushed them on the base of the vacuum which was easy to do, however, they do not seem to be extremely secure, they do not wiggle or fall out when you lift the vacuum up, but i was surprised to see that the wheels didn’t snap on. However, the vacuum moves around fine and is not top heavy. One thing I was extremely impressed on was the suction power of this vacuum. I used the ‘crevice’ tool that was included with the vacuum. Overall, that is why i got the vacuum in the first place as i needed enough suction to remove ground in dirt and grit off of car carpets and seats. ( which it does great). The second downside is that the vacuum itself is relatively loud which may not be ideal for some people. However, Im very happy with this product. Before you leave this review I would also like to note that part of owning this vacuum is knowing what to and what not to do with your vacuum, their are certain things that you cannot vacuum up without direction such as DRYWALL DUST and SOOT. when you get your vacuum, read the owners manual and you will be satisfied. Know the vacuum, know how it works, and you will be good to go.

I have to apologize for returning the first delivered Stanley Wet/Dry Vacuum. I thought it arrived without the hose, wheels and attachments. When the second replacement unit was delivered my cousin was here. She looked at it and then opened the canister. there to my surprise revealed the wheels, hose and attachments needed to operate the vacuum. Once assembled, it worked great. Might be good idea so include info that states the pieces are inside the main unit. I cant be the only one.

It’s a mini shop vac! All the functionality of the big guys in a smaller, very light, maneuverable size. It’s essentially A 5 gallon bucket on wheels with a nice long hose and wands. Get the big one for the garage or shop, but this one is awesome inside the house for hardwood floors, pet hair and kiddy block toys that always get sucked up with the normal vac and clog the line. Long Wand lets you reach all the nooks, crannies, fan blades, return vents etc. I had a lot of fun the day I got it, although Inwas disgusted that I had been living in so Much filth. Lolz! Highly recommend for every use except maybe heavy carpet. But it can work for that too in a pinch with the floor attachment. Great product. How did we live without it?

Tons of power for such a portable vacuum. Saves me on time when it comes to vacuuming my car since I no longer have to run an extension cord from the house to the vacuum. Only downside I can think of is due to the stiffness of the hose, it causes the vacuum to easily tilt which stops the vacuum from sucking in. Usually, you have to take out the top and shake it a bit to get it to work once more. I just avoid this by holding onto the vacuum while using it. It’s light enough that I don’t mind doing this.

Excellent power, nice long cord. EZ to MT out. I love mine No! I M Not Sharing – order your own. You’ll love it! Great gift idea for your brothers and sisters, even mom and dad. My mixt pup travelled with me over the road. She had hair that was like a Golden Retriever. I had to empty the vacuum out daily and take the filter out and bang it
against the side of the truck to loosen the very fine grade of grit. If you love your vehicle clean but don’t want to pull out y
our shop vac and extension cord daily this compact unit is your answer! Be sure YOu line up the hook spots in original position. I recommend using a Sharpe and Mark one side and not the other. I drive for Uber and Lyft and I swear my riders have been dancing in mud! This little vacuum handles everything thrown it’s way!

Revised after one year: From 5 to 3 stars- vacuum is good but no replacement bags from Stanely. Had to search out replacements, measure for fit and hope they work as good.
Stanley sucks for not making bags available.

This wet dry vac is the easiest to use version I’ve ever worked with. Setting this vacuum up was a breeze. Crew on the caster wheels. Remove its bits from the wast bucket. Assemble the dirt wand. Plug it into mains power and switch it on. Yeah it is that easy. Suction power not the strongest but good enough for 85% to 90% of jobs. Picks up small screws and debris. Picks up small chunks of drywall plaster. Not oppressively LOUD! Huge power on off button so no hunting for its power switch.
The casters make it very mobile and fun to use. The short cord makes it an abject misery to use. The extension cord on this monster is an absolute joke. Everything about this Stanley 12 Gallon 5.5 Peak HP Wet/Dry Vacuum is fairly mediocre. It is a quality unit and it does an acceptable job at everything but nothing at all makes it a standout top performer. This Stanley 12 Gallon 5.5 Peak HP Wet/Dry Vacuum is a leader of the middle of the pack of Shop Vac’s.
This Stanley 12 Gallon 5.5 Peak HP Wet/Dry Vacuum is definitely NOT the bottom of the Shop Vac barrel by any means. In 85% of situations this Shop Vac will perform fine. However if you want to get small debris out of Berber Carpeting forget about it being an easy job. This Stanley 12 Gallon 5.5 Peak HP Wet/Dry Vacuum is what I would call entirely ok just not fabulously great!

I bought this primarily to clean hard floor surfaces as a replacement to mopping (6 Gallon 4 Horsepower model). Let’s face it, mopping is not very effective and basically just pushes dirty water around.
I was ready to hire a professional tile cleaner or replace my floors entirely. THEN I got this idea to FLOOD my floors and use a water shop vac to take away the dirt once-and-for-all!
NOTE: This comes with a wet floor attachment that does NOT work well at all. So for another $20 I purchased a special squeegee attachment, which proved to be a winning combination.
WOW! This is a powerful shop vac and combined with the right squeegee, my floors went from flooded to completely dry in one pass. It also was able to suction up the water in the unsealed tile crevasses. Remarkable!
Yes, this shop vac was truly a delightful purchase, but to leave floors dry/clean, you will miss out if you don’t find the right squeegee attachment.
Here is a link to the squeegee, but I see the vendor is sold out. At least you get the idea… https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008MM4C70/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Very rarely do you see a product that has such great PROS along with equally devastating CONS. Usually a products features are consistently bad, average, good, or outstanding. This vacuum seems to have been designed by a NASA engineer and a kid that failed Kindergarten working completely independent of one another on completely different features and then just slapped together to make a great terrible vacuum.
The NASA engineer PROS.
Pretty good sucking power for such a small vacuum. I plan on using it when I do small projects around the house, or workshop when lugging the 16 gallon Rigid is overkill. It will definitely do the job. Picked up small wood flakes, saw dust, glue, a couple of small screws, overall very pleased.
Small, Lightweight, definitely easy to hold while working.
Cost – Looking at all the portable vacuums, it was well cheaper than anything else.
Quiet – For as powerful as it is it is pretty quiet
Wall Mount – great little feature, didn’t even realize it came with one so this is a bonus
Kindergarten Flunkie CONS
Cord Length – So you have a nice little portable vacuum for simple jobs around the house and car, so long as there is an outlet less than 6 feet away from your mess. Who the hell makes a portable vacuum with a 6 ft. cord.
Hose Length – Want to pick something up off the floor, well get down on your hands an knees because all it has is about a 4 ft. flexible hose with two attachments, but no rigid extender (luckily I already had one that fit that allowed me to reach the floor from standing) So basically the reason for buying this vacuum, its portability and ease of use is negated out of the box by these two design flaws.
Overall would I buy it again, yes. I’ll attach an extension cord that will permanently be part of the vacuum and rig up some extra tubing I have left over from fixing my sump pump to make it a bit longer. The point is that to make this a usable vacuum if you are using it like me is that it is going to cost you some money to get a rigid tube, extension cord, and longer hose unless you have them lying around the house.
Price searcher –
I bought this thinking if it works reasonably well I will be happy. Well I have to say I am more than a little impressed. This thing has suction like my big shop vacuum has. It does everything the big one will do just on a smaller scale. I bought the Stanley because the hose screws on and doesn’t fall off during use. I would not hesitate to buy another one if needed.

Stanley is a name you can associate with quality. It comes with all attachments, a dirt vacuum bag for those who use them, a water filter to protect the system from debrie if in the water. One heads up. There is a blue dust bag that is covering the liquid filter. This needs to be removed to remove water filter located under it. Reinstall blue filter to protect from dust and dirt. Remove this filter and wash as needed. Do not use this blue filter when wet vacuum. If used it can not be guarantee to come clean. Additional Information in operation book that is included.

For the price i gove it that it does seem to pull its weight… But for the hp tbh i kinda expected more out of it. The bags while using were damn near useless it clogged up instead of depositing into the bag so was forced to use it without…
That goes to day 2 now of having it and only used it 3 times (granted im remodeling a house so those uses were straining its limits for sure)
But while cleaning up the mess made after i installed a dog door it just turned itself off. No burn smell not hot to the touch, just dead. Im letting it sit now while i have lunch and eill empty and clean the filter to see if the problem resolves itself but the way i see it… Theres a reason i got a shop vac not a vacuum cleaner and if it died on me its going back to the store as defective because i dyson house hold vacuum would have lasted longer than this thing.
Update the vacuum did start working again the filter got clogged.
The bag that came with it did eventually work… I found the problem there too the exit port coming into the vac got clogged with debris instead of depositing into the bag. That said the bags posted eith frequently bought together are the wrong size for this vacuum so double check the bag inport sizes before purchasing. However it was the bag that actually came with the vacuum that i had the original problem with. I found cutting the extra bags i purchased and wrapping a rubberband does work ok… Not great but its getting the job done. And for using it as s wet vac it did amazing. So changing my rating to 4★ instead of 3★ make sure to buy extra filters for this vacuum cause if the job is picking up sheetrock or plaster dust saw dust etc etc even with the bag that comes with it the filter will clog rather quickly. I can get a room or 2 done then have to change to a spare filter. So decent for the price. But if you need heavy duty splurge a bit more if able, (im on a budget so had to get something cheap that would work)

Ordered this as our old shopvac finally died. Fortunately, this one came in on time because our attic HVAC unit began leaking (clog in pipe) and water was everywhere. Pulled this out of the box (didn’t even out on casters) and went into attic. This thing worked great! Easy to use, not too heavy and has plenty of suction power. Only downside is that the tank isn’t very large. Knew that when I ordered it and decided it was a trade off for the lighter weight. Since then, we have used this several times for different leaks, etc. and have been very happy with the performance. Even the HVAC repairman used it and remarked that he was going to buy one for his house.

I bought this product last year because I’ve been having some small floods in the basement. I had a company come and look for the cause of these floods, and they were unable to find it, so this is my alternative.
This vacuum has not had any problems doing the job it is advertised for – 5 stars for that. The suction has been strong and it cleans up the water.
The problem I have with it, and I’ve spent way too much time researching this….is working with the drain port! It is important if you’re cleaning up floods to have the option to add an extension hose – whereby you use a converter that screws on to the drain port and reduces the size of it so you can attach a garden hose – this allows you to drain the water out w/o having to lug the wet vac through your basement (or wherever) to empty it. If you’re using the 12 gallon model as I am, when the vac is full with water, it weighs 100 lbs (water weighs 8.34 lbs per gallon).
Good luck maneuvering that around to get it to a location where you can empty it. So I went online, and checked everywhere and could not find a “drain port to hose converter” that would fit the threads on this particular model. They use a proprietary custom size that is not uniform with other brands that do sell a “drain port to hose converter”. I bought two different converters for two other brands hoping they’d fit, and neither did, so I called Stanley for help, and they didn’t have a solution. They don’t make a converter. For this reason, I wouldn’t not recommend this model if you plan to suck up water. There are a couple other brands that do have converters, and one that you can even buy a pump for that you attach the drain hose to and will expel water up through a basement window.
My solution (see attached photo) was to buy a 2 inch pool draining hose, and clamp it over the entire drain port. This has worked so far.

Just received & assembled today. Haven’t used but everything appears sturdy and in good working order. Have concerns with instructions as I am not familiar with Wet/Dry Vacs. Someone who is would likely not need the instructions at all. But for the rest of us: 1. The blower and intake ports are not labeled and the port on the lid piece does not appear on, nor is it labeled on the unit illustration. One “clue” is the parts illustration on page 3 points to & labels the lower port as “vacuum” port (all other instruction references call it the “intake” port). Another clue is found on page 8 where the top port is illustrated and (finally) identified as the “blower” port. The hose fits both. Best to identify each up-front, don’t you think?
2. The explanation for why/when use of the large, disposable paper filter bag is appropriate is non-existent. Only instructions on how to install it. The illustration for emptying debris doesn’t include this bag; just shows pouring stuff out of tub. ??????
3. When blowing should all filters be removed? Leave one on? If so, which one? Does it matter? No mention in blowing instructions. Presume it is irrelevant -?????
4. There are 4 holding spots for 5 tools. It’s okay as the gulper nozzle easily fits over and is secure on the crevice nozzle. A mention of this in the instructions would be a great addition. Some people just don’t see these things.
5. Step 1 of caster assembly makes no sense at all – “Invert dust tank, take the dolly to align the tank bottom sinking place. Secure with screws provided.” No mention of the casters that are what you actually screw on to the tank bottom. And what is a “ tank dolly sinking place” anyway? Luckily the pieces are designed in a way that is pretty self-explanatory.
6. More Instruction Manual space is devoted to detailed cautions and detailed warnings than the detail in operating instructions. They could be so much better and much more clear. Wouldn’t take much to add a lot value to a new user customer’s experience.

I really like this vacuum. I should probably add – I just wanted a little vacuum for personal use that could handle wet stuff, and I also don’t like stand up vacuums. I wanted one with the hose and a base unit that would follow me around. This worked out brilliantly, and does exactly what I need it to do. If you’re looking for something for your construction projects or shop class, you probably want to find other reviews, because that’s not at all the perspective this review is coming from. I’m using it on floors and carpets and to clean after a sick pet. Anyway, it’s powerful, and the hose makes it easy to use. It’s very light.
I do have a couple of notes for the designers. My biggest complaint is that once you have a bag in it, there’s nowhere to store the long hose. Everything else has a place, the power cord loops around the handle on top, the feet have little pegs for the accessories, but the hose ends up just sort of floating around, which is annoying. I also wish it came with a carpet attachment with some wheels, because having to order that piece separately for another $20 is also annoying, like the homeless hose.
But all in all, for a $75 shop vac, this was a very good purchase, and I’m glad I bought the thing.

My household has TWO of these vacs – I bought one for my daughter last year, and she loved hers so much she got me one for Christmas this year. The suction is fantastic, the vac itself is light, and the wheels make it convenient. Our household includes five cats, two people with long hair, and a woodburning fireplace insert with accompanying log storage area …. all of which present real challenges to ordinary vacuums. This vac handles it all with no problem! The included attachment head for sweeping floors works OK on bare floors but not too well on carpet, so I purchased an inexpensive bare floor/carpet accessory head and now the vac works like a dream everywhere, including on area rugs. I don’t think I’d recommend this as the only vacuum in a home that was primarily carpeted, but if you have mostly non-carpeted floors this is a super vac. And if you have lots of pet hair hair to clean up every day, this vac could be the one you’ve been waiting for. I LOVE it.

This is a no fuss handy all purpose vac that would be good to have in the garage or for a small project workshop.
My 2” line 6 HP 16 gallon vac was on its last legs, The larger bags are more expensive, I don’t have as much storage space, and I don’t do big projects anymore. It was a good value for downsizing or quick cleanups, but isn’t for more than light home and auto work.
Very lightweight and easy to maneuver for anyone that is of slight frame.

Purchased this for my husband, who drives a dump truck. He uses it to clean his cab out. It’s perfect for that. It’s compatible to use in the lighter outlet on the vehicle. The size is ideal, it can be stored in the truck without taking up much space.
