The self emptying feature doesn’t work and I have to manually empty the bin in the vacuum all the time. Dog hair easily tangles in the brush and it will stop working until you cut the dog hair out. I could’ve got a cheaper vacuum if I’m going to be emptying it myself anyways

When you first set up this vacuum you will want to map your entire house. You will want it to map every area you will ever want it to clean because once the map is created it cannot be changed unless you go through another remapping. One problem — if your house has near or over 1000 sq ft of _vacuumable_ floor space (my house is 2300 sq ft but only about 1100 sq ft available to be vacuumed) — is the bin will get cram-packed with debris. Therefore, do not let it boost vacuum on carpets while mapping . You can turn that feature on later. The biggest problem I have had with this vacuum is that the bin gets so full the auto-empty cannot get the bris out. My solution is to let it clean small areas on a schedule and daisy chain the schedules: 10am clean bedroom, hall, entry. 12pm clean front room, kitchen, and office. And so on.
It is a very good vacuum cleaner but is somewhat let down by weak software. For example, it does not empty itself when it is full. I just keeps on going and going trying to cram more and more into its small debris bin. Thus the solution above. After mapping the whole house, it turns out that somehow my kitchen, family room and dining room are now all mapped as one room. There is no way to change that although Customer Support says they will look to add that as a feature.
Pros: It is very low and goes under all but one piece of my furniture. In fact, just about any other robot vacuum on the market would not fit under the majority of my bedroom furniture. After cleaning with a very good Shark upright with clean filters, the Yeedi still filled it’s debris bin two times. So the cleaning is good. The mopping helped, but was not at all what I would term “great.” Good in that the pad had a good bit of dirt on it but not great as it cannot scrub. Mopping is simply passive. But it is still a “Pro. “ The Yeedi stays off the carpet when mopping. Value for the money is great. Good customer support too.
Cons: Software as mentioned above plus apparent lack of sensors to determine if its debris bin is full.
Note: With th emop on it cannot get off or on its perch. At first I was a bit miffed by that, but then reasoned that I want to take that wet mop off anyway so I have to handle it and then palce it on the charger.
Sometimes when it is time to go “home,” it will take a very circuitous track through chair legs and around behind a trampoline and then under an exercise machine rather than just straight down a hall (that it was facing at the time) to its target. Not a minus, but a curiosity.
However, returning home may be a problem sometimes. Just once – so far – it went straight back to its station, but just sat there and spun. After a few spins, it went back into the house and around the perimeter of each room until the battery died. Poor thing, I guess it was lost…
You cannot name the rooms it has mapped. Yeedi gives you names you have to use. So I have no “office,” no “family room,” no “guest room,” no “master bedroom,” no “guest bedroom or bathroom”, and no “project room” as there is no option for custom names.
Lastly, when it did finally try to empty the bin at the vacuum station, it could not remove the packed in debris. I have one short-hair cat and only my foot traffic. As I said, I had previously vacuumed the entire house and the yeedi had also vacuumed it and the amount of debris packed in could not be removed even a little with the vac station’s vacuum power. There is no message that comes to the app to tell me to empty it and no button to return it to the station to empty it. Anyway, the solution to this, as already mentioned, are multiple schedules.
Update 10-16-21: It has now vacuumed the house everyday since I got it. It is still unable to empty the debris bin fully. This last time, it emptied one-half the bin, but left the other half clogged. I introduced the yeedi (AKA, Sir Sucksalot) to a new room that was not originally vacuumed due to its utter lack of use. It methodically cleaned the room and left, but interestingly, did not add that new room to its map. WT..? Not a big deal for me, but, again, the software team is way behind the hardware people.” Support pointed me to the button that allows manual bin empty and it is inappropriately named “Auto Empty.“
Update 10/20/21 – For the last two days Sir Sucksalot has been fully emptying its bin! I have been emailing support and they have been very responsive: (1) The CS rep has answered all of my questions and forwarded my observations to the development people, while mentioning there will be software improvements and (2) is sending me an accessory kit — not sure exactly what that will be — via “expedited” shipping. I’m increasing my rating by one star for good CS. If the software becomes acceptable, I will rate Sir Sucksalot 5 stars.
Update 10/23/21 – I remapped the house to include all the rooms . Once all the rooms are mapped, you can schedule cleaning for just one or more rooms. Sir Sucksalot will go clean those rooms, come back to the charging station and empty and then await further orders. Essentially, the jobs can be broken down into shorter cleaning cycles that will allow the bin to empty between scheduled runs because it is not so crammed full.

The only thing I don’t like about this product is that it has to complete a full cleaning and return to the station for it to save the mapping of the house. You can’t stop the cleaning in the middle and have it return to the station or it won’t save the map. Or if it gets stuck and you’re not at home and it can’t return to the station and the battery dies the map won’t save either (learned that the hard way). Not sure if all robot vacuums are like this as this is the only one I’ve ever had. But other than that this product is 10/10. I have a golden retriever and people who have dogs know how much hair/dirt/crap gets everywhere. This gets everything. Also the self empty is awesome. You press a button in the app and it empties itself. I don’t have to touch a thing! Works awesome on multiple surfaces as well. It’s really fun to watch it clean your floors for you.

It is awesome , took me two days to get it all under control:)We can finally keep our floors clean with 3kids .I give this product two thumbs up! I consider it the best purchase I’ve made in a long, long time. This combined with the floor cleaner with wave in its name have reduced the amount of time I spend cleaning the floors. I was dust mopping twice a day, but now there is no need. You can name areas on your map and send the robot out to certain areas. You can also add a square where you do not want the robot to vacuum.

This robot meets our expectations. We were impressed by the modern look and smart functions that it has to offer.
Assembly instruction was clear and straightforward. Commands were only a few clicks away through the app on my iPhone where I could make the robot vacuum or make it go back to the charging station. The app works perfectly and does exactly what you want it to do.
Robot was able to detect and scan through every single corner of the house. It is suggested that obstacles be cleared away from the floor to facilitate the best cleaning route. It moved delicately instead of bumping into anything too hard. It went back and forth to make sure it thorough cleaned areas without trying to get rid of the obstacles. However, it could get stuck when it encountered a wire. A regular vacuum would as well.
The Price is affordable compared to other brands that have similar characteristics and functions: excellent mapping, easy to clean, amazing app integration, low maintenance, and ability to empty itself. It could get loud during the emptying process, but doesn’t do any harm.
Overall, we are very happy with the Yeedi robot vacuum. A truly intelligent technology that we cannot bargain for at this price. We love the charging station and the self-cleaning function. It saves us so much time and energy. We were able to tend to other chores while letting it clean our entire house hassle free. We are keeping it.

My Yeedi Vac Station consists of a vacuum-equipped dock and a Yeedi Vac Max robotic vacuum cleaner.
The charging station is 16.75 inches tall and 7.5 inches wide. Its base and loading ramp reaches 13.6 inches in length. This device is capable of recharging and emptying debris from the accompanying robotic vacuum.
The Vac Max robotic vacuum spans 13.6 inches and is 3 inches high. An auto mode pushbutton and a navigational camera are mounted to its deck. A white plastic cover conceals the robot’s dustbin, power switch, reset button, and wi-fi indicator.
A water tank, flanked by an assortment of anti-collision sensors and a bumper, fits snugly into the robot’s back edge.
Two large rubber-coated drive wheels, an omnidirectional wheel, one side brush, six drop sensors, a carpet detection sensor, an optical flow sensor, and the main brush are located beneath this device. A pair of metal contacts used to charge the battery are positioned near the front of the robot.
This device is equipped with a 14.4V 5200mAh lithium battery capable of powering the Yeedi Vac Max for over three hours.
No-go zones may be configured using the Yeedi application.
Accessories consist of the charging dock, user’s guide, brush cleaning device, and a spare vacuum bag.
Visual SLAM (simultaneous localization and mapping) systems determine the orientation and position of a robot by creating a map of its environment while simultaneously tracking the device’s position.
Points of interest determined by the algorithm are tracked through successive camera frames to triangulate a 3D position. This data is used to create a 3D map and identify the robot’s location. The Yeedi Vac Station derives this information from photographing the ceilings of the rooms being cleaned.
After mapping is complete, the robot can now determine both its own location and those of surrounding objects and efficiently navigate a room while bypassing chairs and other obstacles.
This system is equipped with an automatic dust-emptying dock. Once the robotic vacuum returns to recharge, the dock’s built-in vacuum sucks debris from the device’s dustbin and deposits it into a large vacuum bag located within the dock’s upper compartment.
While a dust-emptying system saves little time and effort, it is a convenience to which I quickly became accustomed. I am loath to give it up. On the more practical side, this system allows me to program the robotic vacuum to clean my house daily, even when I am away on vacation. This application enables the user to control how their robotic vacuum operates. I can set schedules, suction and drip rates, and task the robot to clean specific areas. The Yeedi vacuum easily navigated my thick foam bathroom mat and the well-secured Turkish rug.
A black colored metal grating guards the air intake located within my front foyer. While this obstacle sometimes traps the wheels of unwary robots, the Yeedi vacuum carefully edged around it.
While vacuuming, this robot can cross thresholds—the strip of wood at the bottom of doorways where rooms connect—of up to 2 centimeters (0.8 inches). Because several of my rooms have floors rising 1.25 inches above their neighbors’, I have installed narrow ramps between them. The Yeedi vacuum did not experience difficulties coping with these hybrid thresholds.
At one point, it climbed atop the foot pedal used in conjunction with my stage piano. Then the vacuum loudly requested assistance. I rescued the robot from this not particularly perilous perch and tapped its deck-mounted pushbutton. The vacuum immediately found its bearings and continued cleaning. This incident represents the only problem I encountered while vacuuming.
This robotic vacuum is fitted with a 5200mAh lithium battery capable of providing power for up to three hours in standard mode.
My medium-sized house can be cleaned within 61 minutes in standard mode. During the testing phase, I vacuumed my floors three times in succession. By that point, the battery level had dropped to ten percent.
The Yeedi robotic vacuum begins with a Z pattern which is heavily modified by information derived from its internally developed map. If desired, specific rooms can be targeted for individual cleaning using the Yeedi application.
This robot can be set to vacuum at 600, 1500, or 3000PA. I generally use the lowest level because it cleans my house well in conjunction with the side brush and an exceptionally effective main brush. While utilizing this mode, I can barely hear the robot unless I occupy the room being cleaned.
The suction level automatically increases when the robot travels over a mat or carpet. However, when vacuuming my thicker upstairs carpets, I usually set the vacuum mode to 1500 or 3000PA.
I can set no-go zones that prevent the robot from entering specific areas. More importantly, zones can be established that apply only to mopping operations. When my robot is mopping, it avoids carpeted rooms and edges carefully around my Turkish rug.
The drip rate of the water tank can be adjusted. I find this helpful because I like to use minimal water when mopping wooden floors.
Standard mopping systems consist of a mop pad attached to a plastic mop plate. The mop plate generally hangs below the water tank, connected to it by a pair of plastic pieces that work somewhat like a set of hinges.
The robot drags the mop pad along the floor as it vacuums. When the vacuum climbs over the threshold between two rooms, the hinged mop plate is pressed upward, hopefully providing enough clearance to be pulled across.
Thin mop pads increase the amount of clearance available. While this allows the robot to cross higher thresholds, these pads clean poorly.
Yeedi has chosen to provide a thick and plush mop pad. It cleans floors more effectively, but the clearance is reduced to nine millimeters.
This robotic vacuum provides excellent value. It is fitted with an effective navigation system and benefits from excellent maneuverability, long battery life, and the ability to set no-go zones. I was especially impressed by its automatic dust-emptying dock. If you are looking for a robotic vacuum suitable for a medium-sized to a large house, the Yeedi Vac Station is worth a close look.

Many people might not have heard of Yeedi but I was in search of this brand/model for a long while; I was super glad when K781+ became available on Amazon! Yeedi is a sub-brand of the famous Ecovacs and in my opinion it has a pretty fair price point compared to other big names.
Below is the pros and cons I found after one month of using this vacuum robot:
Pros:
Self-emptying – this is the number one feature I love. I have two dogs who shed all year round. My old Ecovacs vacuum robot was helpful but cleaning up the dust bin once everyday was still a hassle to me. Plus I am allergic to dust mite and I’d like to avoid having to empty the bin often. A tip here is, if you clean too big of an area the dust bin can get really packed and the self emptying can fail. Just split your space into custom areas and set schedules – problem solved!
Carpet detection – this model detects carpet and avoid wetting and mopping the carpet during work. This is super handy as I have many many area rugs throughout my whole house and I would hate to collect them before each mopping session. Life saver!
Vacuum and Mop at the Same Time – and you can also choose to vacuum first and then mop too. The nice thing about vacuuming and mopping together is that the pets are less confused, which I enjoy, a lot!
Quietness – I did find this model to be quieter than my old Ecovacs model, and I feel a lot more comfortable using it during the day because of that.
Cons:
Dust bags cannot be reused – which means you need to purchase these bags again and again.
Mopping pad – I need to manually wash the pad after each clean. Yes I can lower the mopping frequency but I hope one day there will be a model with both the self-emptying station and the mop cleaning station (like a combiantion of yeedi and narwal).

When I got mine there was $150 off coupon, so it was $350. With that, this is a really solid performer.
As a smart robot vacuum, the navigation and area detection is pretty dang good. The first time it runs it’s a little weird to watch work but after it’s first run it’s really good. The biggest problem is the system automatically detects rooms, which is cool, but you can’t add/edit the map yourself. My living room/kitchen is an open floor plan, so it doesn’t know that they’re two different rooms. This could potentially be a serious upgrade via of a software update.
The vacuum is quieter than others I’ve used while still performing well. It’s easy enough to clean but the way the dust bin filter works means it’s a bit awkward to clean compared to other robot vacuums I’ve used, but I’ve also used worse so it’s kind of a wash.
The charging dock is good, charges quick enough, and the emptying is really loud but convenient. It also produces a ozone smell when it’s emptying the vacuum’s dust bin, which is a bit weird but considering how hard it’s pulling in from the robot’s dustbin it’s not too weird I guess.
The mop is really only worthwhile if you have non-carpeted floors throughout. It doesn’t lift the mop attachment or anything, so leaving it on means it’s dragging a damp cloth over the carpet as it moves around. I did shut the robot in the bathrooms and while it’s not great as a mop it’s better than nothing I guess. Still doing that by hand.
Some smaller notes:
– The robot has pre-recorded voice messages for it’s noises. It says it’s turning on, starting cleaning, returning to the charger, etc. Compared to other robots I used that just made random beeping noises, this is actually really nice.
– The app is really clean, and there are a lot of nice features relative to other smart vacuums there if you go through everything, but as mentioned the big missing one in my opinion is map customization. You can’t define your own rooms, the room names don’t have a custom entry, you pick from their given options, and other little “why is this the area that’s lacking?” annoyances. If they update this it’s a no-brainer “buy” at this price point.
– I found out while it was first running that it doesn’t have magnetic sensors. I have a couple magnet strips around the house from older robot vacuums to block off certain areas. This robot just ignores them. Ultimately it ended up being fine for me, it didn’t get stuck like the others did, it was just a bit surprising.

I got S5 vacuum robot as a gift for a year+ But I wanted to upgrade with a self-empty vacuum robot. And I decided to buy this baby. After a week use, Here are some comparisons between them I would love to share with you guys:
Loudness: yeedi wins! this baby is VERY VERY quiet with standard mood! acceptable loudness with strong mood.
Clean: I have all floor at home, no carpet. so far this model clean the my Pomeranian hair and my hair very well even with standard mood. And with the mopping system, This model has bigger water tank so I dont have to refill the water in the middle of time.
Smartness: it was a bit confusing and took longer time with its first and second run. But it did good job after.
Most important feature SELF-EMPTY: as I said I have a Pomeranian at home, he shed a lot everyday so I have to clean the dustbin very often which was annoying. That’s the biggest reason I want a upgrade. This yeedi model got this covered. —> Very satisfied.

The overall quality of the Yeedi vac station in my opinion is around 3 to 4 stars. As mentioned below the robot has some problems returning to charge by itself, so I recommend that you use this appliance when home. If you need a robot that’s a master in mopping, then this will not be the best choice for you. However if you are looking for a good vacuuming robot, this robot will serve you well.
Below are the pros and cons of the robot vacuum
Pros
1. Suction power is great
2. Auto empty feature is mind blowing
3. Works well for pet hair
4. Battery life’s pretty long in standard mode(200min)
5. Easy maintenance
6. Small and compact(will easily squeeze in and vacuum low areas)
Cons
1. Always gets stuck
2. Carpet detection very slow(will sometimes drag mop onto carpet)
3. Has lots of trouble returning to charge
4. Terrible at mapping out the house(it took around a week to finish and sometimes I had to delete and let it redo)
5. Navigation is awful
6. Obstacle avoidance very bad(doesn’t have any obstacle sensors, will bop into everything)
7. Area cleaning often doesn’t work due to the imprecise navigation
8. Mopping is very annoying because you have to wash the mop thoroughly after every 20min or so. Also it will not remove any stains.
9. Not equipped with LiDAR, it uses the visual slam technology which preforms poor in low light conditions.
Even though the Yeedi vac station has its problems, I still will recommend it because of how clean your home will become. Any robot vacuums has its own pros and cons, so you should not expect to much from them except for making your home a wonderful place.
Hope this review finds you well.
Thank you!

We named our Yeedi vac: Dobby 2.0 because our first Dobby was the self-empty Shark that Costco sells. The Shark was a little bit taller so it didn’t get under some of the furniture and he also got himself stuck on a very small elevation change on a regular basis. So original Dobby went back to Costco.
Dobby 2.0 is sleeker and the app is much better than the Shark. He doesn’t get stuck anywhere, and seems to do a good job cleaning. I spilled a bunch of flour in the kitchen and left it there to see how he handled it. There wasn’t a trace of flour left after he went through. Oddly, though, he sometimes misses a random crumb here and there. We have a short-haired dog that sheds a decent amount, so we run the vacuum daily to keep the hair and dirt at bay. Overally, I’m very happy with the job that Dobby 2.0 does!
My only complaint is that the dirt does not fully empty at the emptying station. Clumps of dirt get stuck in the trap doors, so that pretty much defeats the purpose of the emptying station. I have long hair, and my unproven theory is that my long hairs clump up with the dirt and make it hard to evacuate from the onboard dust collection bin. So keep that in mind if you have anyone with long hair in your home.
I came on here to start a return and then just buy the Yeedi without the station (Dobby 3.0!)…no point in the station if I’m manually emptying the dust bin myself. It turned out it was only $35 less to get the vac without the station. For $35, I’m not going through the hassle of packing the vac up and getting it to a UPS Store to return. We live in a rural area with no UPS Store, so I would have to plan a trip to get it returned by the deadline.

I purchased 2 of the Vac Station units, which includes the yeedi vac max.
this device is underwhelming, despite all the reviews from other sites (Wired, PC Mag, etc) as well as amazon reviews. It’s got some nice features, but leaves a lot to be desired.
Some of the biggest gripes:
1. It does not empty the tray once it’s full during a cleaning cycle. Consequently, if the onboard tray is full, it’ll just keep going along, even though the bin is packed. You can’t force it to return and empty — there’s no button or feature for that. The only way you can manually empty to the base station is to cancel the cleaning job…but then that defeats the whole purpose
2. It’s always getting stuck under my cabinets. Notably around the kitchen, where we have fatigue mats. It’s also getting stuck on some of my rugs. It kept getting stuck under chairs and in the halls (??) for my MIL.
3. Getting this thing to map out rooms is a major pain in the butt. I’ve run the vacuum probably half a dozen times now, and it still can’t figure out where my rooms are. I had the same issue with the unit for my mother in law. It took quite a few runs before it figured out rooms. Why is this important? Because you can’t set schedules to clean ABC rooms if it thinks that your house is one single, gigantic room. And no, there does not seem to be a way to manually partition/set rooms once it ‘maps’ out everything. You can only set borders….but that’s not really the same thing, is it?
4. The mapping technology on this thing seems to do much better in light — assumingly because it has a camera, and not a laser attached to help it map. Figured this out after running my MIL’s unit multiple times at night and having it map out funky stuff. We tried with all the lights on, and it seemed to do better.
5. Per the reviews from the other sites, this thing does not have an onboard HEPA filter; only at the base station. Just something to note
6. The self empty bin doesn’t always self empty. If it gets full, it’ll sometimes get stuck and not extra act once it reaches the base. Kind of the defeats the purpose of having a self emptying bin, doesn’t it?
7. The app is largely junk. It has basic functions, and features, but leaves a lot to be desired
8. There’s only one roller, as opposed to Roomba’s patented double roller
Things I did like about this vacuum:
1. It seems to clean better than my old Roomba 6 and 8 series. It’s more intentional, less chaotic / random
2. It’s quieter than the old Roomba I had
3. It looks nice aesthetically
4. It does not have magnetic boundary/ block off lines, as with some of the other budget robot vacuums (eg. Coredy). You block off areas using the app
5. It tells you the life span / when you should be checking your consumable / replaceable parts
6. It talks to tell you what it’s doing / what it needs!
Overall, I really wanted to like this thing. I still do. With how it’s currently functioning though, it’s hard not to feel like it’s been largely a waste of money– even if I got it with the $150 coupon, which landed each unit at about $350+tx.
Yes, it is probably the best bang-for-buck smart series of robot vacuums, but there’s a reason why it’s cheaper too. I’ve read that it’s better than the entry level Roombas that have self-emptying bases, but I think those at least empty when their bins are full before continuing? It looks like the s9+ may be the only robot vacuum good enough to fit the bill….but then that unit is at about 2.5x the cost of this unit.
There have been great / major advancements in the area of robot vacuumms, but i guess we’re just not quite there yet.

So overall the mopping feature on this and vacuum is excellent. Saves me so much time, and the floors look immaculate, because I don’t have to waste time having to vacuum and mop them constantly. Let me start by saying my wife and I have a eight and seven year old. Add on to that we have six family members living with us, from the youngest, age five , the mom, and the rest of the children, age 13, 17, 21, and 23. So the kitchen and main area is constantly being used. The vacuum is on the main floor where we have the kids play room, kitchen, living room, and dining room all being on the same floor. Most of it, is hard surfaces with some area rugs. Overall it does an excellent job, and I have a happy wife. I wake up in the morning, I set the vacuum to go off and mop the floors. I usually put it another time sometime in the afternoon. Then after dinner sometime again, after everyone has cleared out, I turn it on again. . I have only had this thing for less than a week and I’m using it three to four times a day. The first four or five times you use it, it has to learn the room. Also when you have the mopping plate on, even if there is no water, it will not go over the area rugs. No big deal. If you take the moping plate off, then it will vacuum only and go over the area rugs, carpet, and floors. You do have to make sure the rooms you plan on vacuuming are prepped, meaning no plastic wrappers on the floor, no socks, no crayons, or anything that can get stuck in the vacuum, especially cords. Once you get familiar with the app, it is excellent as well. You can set rooms you want to avoid when it starts. You can also choose specific areas that you want it to vacuum and mop. You can set specific times through the app, whether it be daily for it to mop and vacuum. It takes four to five times of cleaning for the map to develop on your app, and for the vacuum to learn the room. The only thing I will say is, when the vacuum is in the middle of vacuuming, going on the edges of the room, it does not recognize when it is going by the charger and it will tend to bump into the charging station, until trying to go around it. In addition, I am still pretty skeptical of the claim of being 200 minutes charge time. Now that the vacuum has learned the layout the room though it does not take as long, mop and vacuum up the room. Also, once it is done cleaning it will automatically tell you its done, and go back to the charging station. Once it is on the charger, you have to take off the moping plate, in order for it to charge. Overall excellent. I am considering another one, upstairs for the bedrooms.

Yeedi customer service is fantastic. My first vac glitched and stopped working properly. I contacted customer service and right away they sent me a new model. So far I have only tried the vac for vacuuming and thus far it does a great job. It has three settings ( standard, max, and max+). I like that it recognizes right away when it encounters carpet.
It does super well in picking up pet and human hair. I have a short hair pitbull and it has helped pick up a lot of her hair. I like that is provides a small cutting device to clean out the vacuum from all the hair it gathers. It is kind of a steep price, but it is worth it.
The app is super easy to install and understand. No issues connecting to the wifi.
The auto empty feature is neat but loud. Sounds like an actual vacuum cleaner when turned on.
The whole mapping interface is pretty spot on. I haven’t tried the virtual model yet.
I think the only place the vac ran into issues was one of our bathrooms that has those thick Costco bath mats. It couldn’t really go on them to vacuum them, which is okay.
I’ll update once I use the mopping option.
I think the only thing I wish is to be able to change the voice of the vac. That is just personal preference:)
Thank you Yeedi!

This vacuum was ok. It does an ok job. It’s not great on pet hair, some days it does better than others. The dustbin emptying feature turns on and it sucks but it is rare for it to actually get it empty. Most days it clogs in the opening and I have to empty it manually.
It does not work unless you have the app and you doesn’t have a remote. The last one I had had a remote and I could just have it vacuum a small area, this does not have that option. It gets stuck, a lot, it gets tangled in clothes, even a shirt. I’m not sure if I should be glad that it sucks enough to tangle in a shirt or upset that it gets tangled in a shirt. But I can’t run it when I’m out of the house because it is constantly getting stuck somewhere or something or other.
It does stop at the steps, that’s a pro but there is another area that we have that is a drop, similar to a step, and it is constantly getting stuck in that so I have to put something around that area. The app is ok but difficult to pinpoint the area that I want to block off.
Overall, I wouldn’t buy this again.

This is my first robot vacuum. I held off buying for the longest time because friends who bought these (earlier more known brands) robot vacuums would complain, especially how it was not strong enough on carpets/rugs and expensive. But my yeedi cost me about $400 – bought it when it was a deal of the day. Compared to other brands, I think this yeedi vacuum with the self-empty station was an amazing deal. I’ve been using it for about 3 weeks and it’s made my life alot easier. I run it at least once a day (compared to previously vacuuming once a week or less often). It’s quiet and so smart. The first week or so I would follow it sometimes with my phone to check the accuracy and real-time feature of the mapping. But what I love the most is that it reaches the spots I can’t with a manual upright, like underneath my beds, under the couches that are up against the walls, etc. As for battery life, it’s never run 200 minutes for me; usually it’s lasted only about half the time. But about 3/4 of my place is carpeted or has thicker rugs (and sometimes I select the max+/highest power level instead of just leaving at standard with power booster for the carpeted rooms – btw even at max+ power, it’s not that loud), so I think the battery run time is pretty good compared to other popular robot vacuum brands. Yes, it has gotten stuck a few times on my thinner bathroom rugs – but less often than with my upright. I have also already replaced the brush – actually I rotate the original with the new brush now and then so I can wash/dry – that’s how dusty/dirty my floors were, particularly the first few run times. Fyi- for replacement parts, some are similar to the ones for certain ecovac deebots, but search for “yeedi K781+” and there are at least one or two vendors on Amazon that sell the vacuum bags and other parts.

Overall I’d say it’s pretty good. Vacuums the area rug better than my old regular vacuum, gets all dust bunnies from under the bed and even does light mopping.
What I don’t like about functionality is the lack of second floor option, the lack of a reservoir for any kind of cleaning solution and the biggest con for me is the map. You have to spend time on letting it complete mapping during the initial setup. You have to follow behind to make sure it does not get tangled in anything because if it does, you have to restart mapping all over again and it’s a tedious process. Once your house is mapped, there is no way on the app to edit zones. This robot thinks my living room, dining room and kitchen are just one room. It would be nice if I could break it down manually into 3 rooms on the app.
Setting virtual no go boundaries are somewhat possible next to walls, otherwise it’s hard to figure out where to place this boundary exactly, I am always a few feet off.
I have not figured out how to “add a room” that I did not include during initial mapping without deleting an existing map and starting over. There should be an add or edit button.
But overall this is my first robot vacuum and I am happy with it

The negatives I have for this is that I used to run my Roomba at night – but this one requires light in order to not get lost so now it runs early in the morning, and if it gets lost it *really* gets lost, even if it’s in the correct spot on the map you’d do better to pick it up and put it back on the base than wait for it to try and find it’s way back. Also, a neutral note – it requests ~4.5 *feet* of area for its charger. I’ve given it about 2+ and it works, but I think if I actually had a spot that large it would do better.
That being said, it can run in the same room as you’re in and you barely need to raise your voice to continue a conversation. If it’s under the couch I can’t hear it at all. The vacuum is quite strong, and you’ll hear it rev up when it hits the carpet. You can tell it to do high suction all the time if you like, but even in our pet full family it doesn’t seem to need it. If you have the mopping bit on it senses carpet with a camera underneath and stops mopping and continues vacuuming (unless you’ve got it on mop only) or you can create a box over the carpets that it won’t go there if it’s just mopping. The mop doesn’t do any scrubbing, it just runs a pad over the surface, so if you have deep dirt in crevices you’re going to want to scrub those out and then send the Yeedi over to *keep* it clean. It says not to put anything but water in the reservoir so if the floor is dirtier than normal I’ll spray it with some cleaner and send the robot over to mop it up. You let it draw a map of everywhere on the first day – then block off spots, or tell it which areas to clean when. You can set bunches of different cleaning schedules with different area to go to.
I’ve used it for almost exactly a month and I have yet to need to empty the bag – though I have had to manually clean the bin a few times when stuff has gotten stuck. It keeps an hourly use timer on different parts and sends you a notice when it needs cleaning (for example it’s 30 hours for wiping down the whole machine and clearing anything stuck in the brushes). It uses less than half a battery to clean ~360sqft (that’s actual cleaning area – it’s about 1000sqft of home) and does it in just over an hour.
Overall a very nice machine that I totally recommend. Oh! and you can turn off the voice, which is a nice feature – it’s quite loud if you leave it on.

Upon receiving my yeedi, I was super excited to use it! I was saddened to learn that my vacuum would NOT return to base correctly. It kept going anywhere but the charger. I reached out to their customer support team and they were amazing! They responded super quickly, had me send a video and had a replacement sent out immediately! I would recommend this product solely based on the support they give you. I received my new vacuum and station in the mail and it’s working perfectly! A great product and even better customer service!

Update: I still can’t get a good map of my home, but we have decided to keep it. It does a good job for much less than the alternatives. I did find that when you attach the mop attachment it automatically recognizes it and mops. You can bypass the map problem with virtual fenced areas and by adding custom areas to clean. It isn’t as automatic, but it is simple.
I recommend beginning with an extra filter. It needs to be washed, especially at first, and it is a paper/cloth material that takes a while to dry. Better to have 2.
I haven’t decided to keep this or not, I have a week to decide. For now, we are disappointed. The suction is great, the noise is very quiet, I haven’t had trouble with the auto empty except the first few times when it got too full from dog hair. On the first few runs, pausing the vac and emptying the dustbin manually is easy. Since the first few runs, all has worked fine (and we have a lab that sheds LOTS).
The issue is the map. We have an open kitchen/living area, but a door into the bedroom, into the mud room, into the closet and 2 into the bathroom. The first map never found half our bedroom after 5 tries, and mapped our house into only 2 rooms. So I erased it and began again. The second found our bedroom but mapped the entire home as one room. We want to schedule cleaning in separate locations (the living room and kitchen over night) and we can’t divide out the room. The support only sends the same instructions I found on line. I asked how to mop just tile and block off hard wood, but I don’t understand the instructions on the site.
This is very frustrating. I really want it to work. Where it cleans is very clean!

Yeedi is the 3rd robot vacuum I have tested this month.
The first one I purchased was ECOVACS Deebot N8 Pro+ cost a little more than Yeedi but now that I have seen the 2 side by side and looking at the app I am sure it comes out of the same factory as Yeedi. The Ecovacs model has lidar but that turned out to be the problem with the unit. It would not create a map after 11 cleanings and the “station” the larger vacuum bag/docking station would not work and was dead out of the box. The lidar kept thinking mirrors were rooms or sliding glass doors led to other areas. I addition I set up no-go zones and if just ignored them. I did however do a great job on pet hair. Horrible battery life compared to the other 2 below. It would run about 70min and then return to the docking station, charge for 4hr and run again. RETURNED
The second one was the iRobot Roomba j7+. I really wanted to like this robot but it was NOT good with pet hair. I actually would braid/spin the hair together and spit it out in nasty clumps all over the place. It was also pretty loud compared to the Ecovacs and Yedi. However, the app worked awesomely and the mapping was perfect and fast. Very smart robot and easy to see why it gets top-rated reviews. The bases station sucks hard, I mean really hard like a jet is taking off and removes all the junk out of the robot’s cleaning bin. If I did not have pets I would have kept it. Got stuck more often than the other 2. RETURNED
I had almost given up on a robot vacuum at this point and my wife is laughing at me and all the time I had spent researching and setting these little guys up.
The third was the Yeedi Vac Station. It does a great job on pet hair like the Ecovacs did (same tech) and ran around picking up all the braided hair the iRobot Roomba j7+ had spit out. The battery life is 30-40% longer lasting than the above 2 robots and it can complete my upstairs on 1 charge. Both of the other 2 robots had to return to the docking station and recharge then come back out. The app is not as good as either of the above 2 but it does do the trick it is just clunky. It is harder to define keep-out zones and did not break up the rooms well in the app. All that being said it is a KEEPER.

This product came with a broken bin latch but I reached out to the manufacturer and they sent me a new latch very quickly and at no charge. In the meantime, I taped down the lid and put the vacuum to the test. I let it underneath my bed where I hadn’t thoroughly cleaned since I moved in a few years ago. I didn’t catch that this vacuum is only compatible with a 2.4GHz wifi router and didn’t honestly know that mine is currently 5GHz so I haven’t been able to put scheduling or the room mapping to the test.
All of that said, the vacuum cleans my main level in around 1 hour. The suction increases as it goes over my woven hemp rug and is able to grab threads laying on top of it. It found three pennies somewhere and left them randomly in the middle of my floor. The mop function is worth going this route! It is as good as if I use a Norwex mop. Unfortunately, it did try to mop my rug, just damp on top, and without the mapping feature, it got itself trapped in a corner for a while. It would sometimes spend extra time in a few spots but it never put down too much water and would dry about 6 passes later.
If you are worried about uneven floors, don’t. I have a tiled bathroom and cork kitchen that are at least a half-inch higher than the other wood floors and this vacuum made it up and down with only a little more noise as it geared up for it. Additionally, it was able to cross where my rug is folded over on the ends and even handled the corners most of the time.
The manufacturer responded to me within hours about the latch. I hate to send so many things back over a small part and they sent a new one within a few days (some receiving glitches but overall timely), and it was a simple swap to fix the robot.
Back to mopping. LOVE! The water bin can be completely removed and it had more than enough water to mop my 800 sqft home. I can walk around the floor without picking up grit. I can’t seem to disconnect the mopping pad tray from the water tank but I’m just running it without the water tank right now.
A couple of things to note. It did get itself irrecoverably tangled in a small wire under a cabinet (the robot fit under spaces I wasn’t prepared for it to fit, which is a great bonus). It tangles in small lighting cables so those really need to be pinned up. I also pulled all my curtains up before running as I have slightly pooling curtains. It does hit light objects repeatedly, so I have a collapsable plant stand that I wouldn’t trust it with, but it’s done well with plants in baskets and not pushing them around much. Verticle blinds left extended but open were left in a bit of a mess but it handles them grouped to one side well.
As I mentioned before, it somehow found 3 pennies in the first pass and it picked them up and carried them to the middle of the room before dropping them, so there’s not enough suction for that but it clears away hair well (initial vacuuming required hair removal after but not the next two times). It does appear to be vacuuming and mopping and it clearly recognizes that the mop pad is in and demands having it removed before it will charge. Even without being connected through the app (can’t be automated without the app) it will time the cleaning and send messages if the vacuum is stuck or needs the water basin removed and cleaned.
I think this vacuum will work very well for me. It was also very easy to set up…apart from the app issue which I hope I can easily resolve in the coming weeks. I tried to catch a video of the vacuum over the rug as it is louder on higher pile surfaces but most of my floors are flat. Please enjoy the video of it mopping. It had confusion in this corner for some reason that time, it took 20 minutes longer to mop and seemed to be confused in corners it couldn’t fully access. This shows a bit of the shine the mopping leaves behind though. I also showed a photo of the broken bin latch which I mentioned above. I think the video’s sound is pretty accurate to the real sound of the vacuum on flat surfaces. It sounds much louder on the rug but not as loud as an upright typically is.

Our house is mainly hardwood floor with rugs placed on top of the hardwood floor in the living room area. We wanted something mainly for hardwood floor, and didn’t care much about mopping.
This robot vacuum does a really good job. It has picked up every food bit the kids throw on the floor and hasn’t missed anything yet. It does have an unusual path, where it’ll clean half an area, go to another part of the room, and them come back to finish up the rest of the part it didn’t clean. I initially thought it was missing all the bits on the floor, but it would come back much later to pick up what it missed.
The return navigation isn’t great. It seems to get lost when returning to the base, going around the entire boundary of the room before parking in the base. Maybe it’s mapping the room at the end ?
The self-cleaning part is great. It usually succeeds when emptying the bin, but sometimes fails too. It will fail if it picks up lots of hair that clogs the suction vents for self-cleaning. That happened on the first run when it picked up lots of hair. But subsequent runs were great as there wasn’t as much hair on the floor as the first run.
The mopping function is iffy. If you let the mopping function run daily or frequently enough, it’ll usually get everything eventually and then maintain the room clean.
Only thing left that I’m uncertain about is how robust this thing is or of it’ll break down after a year of use. Our last robot was a robovac and that broke down shortly after 1 year (and warranty expired). So will be keeping an eye on this aspect.

This little robot is the most amazing addition to my home in recent years. I was a bit dubious about its ability to pick up small, granular things on my luxury vinyl wood floor. To test, I sprinkled salt and pepper on the floor prior to its first run. Every single speck was picked up. No kidding!
One of the best features is the ability to modify the map that it creates on its first run. I have a shag rug in my living room that is not great for the vacuum to run on. It continued to get stuck. Therefore, I was able to define the border around the rug so Yeedi stuck only to the wood floor and the lower pile carpets at the front and back doors. No problem since. Simply incredible.
Finally, now that I have run this little guy for almost a month, I got the guts up to try the mopping feature. This is almost better than the vacuum feature! While you need to fill the water reservoir and empty it after the mopping is complete, this is way easier than actually mopping your house by yourself, lol.
I mixed a combination of floor cleaner and water when filling the water reservoir and the results were just as good if not better as if I had mopped my entire floor by hand.
I highly recommend this model of robot floor cleaning. My life is forever changed and for the price, it’s worth every penny!!
